Rendering an application is provided. An application script file having scripts corresponding to functions of an application may be retrieved. The application script file may be decomposed into a first script file and a second script file. The first script file may be created by removing at least one script corresponding to at least one function determined for deferred rendering from the application script file. The second script file may be created to include the removed at least one script. The first script file may be sent to a user device to be executed to provide an initial render of the application. The second script file then may be transmitted to the user device for execution of the removed at least one script as part of a deferred rendering of the application.

Methods and systems for application rendering

Variety of approaches to optimize performance based on behavioral and situational signals are described. A productivity service initiates operations to optimize performance upon receiving a behavioral signal and/or a situational signal associated with a user. The behavioral signal and/or the situational signal are analyzed to infer a usage pattern associated with a component of an application. Next, a failure of the usage pattern is detected in a comparison to an utility threshold. In response, the application is instructed to interrupt an execution of the component.

Optimizing performance based on behavioral and situational signals

Embodiments are directed to implementing localized jump lists and to generating a locale-specific jump list. In one scenario, a computer system sends a synchronization request to receive a current contact list that includes a user's contacts. The computer system receives both a synchronized contact list and a locale-specific jump list, which includes jump header sort keys that indicate the relative sorting position of each jump header. The computer system receives a user input indicating that the user has selected a specified jump header and intends to jump to a specified point in the contact list. The computer system then jumps to the user-specified point in the contact list using the jump header sort key that corresponds to the selected jump header in the locale-specific jump list and displays the contact list to the user at the selected jump header that was jumped to using the jump header sort key.

Generating and implementing localized jump lists

Embodiments are directed to maintaining coherence between web application versions, to maintaining proper versions between web application clients and servers and to determining whether to apply a web application update. In one scenario, a computer system receives a data request from a web application client for certain specified data. The data is indexed according to a web application schema, and the data request includes a web application client version identifier. The computer system determines that the requested data is not accessible using the web application schema, updates the web application schema to a current version of the web application schema and processes the received data request using the updated web application schema.

Local store data versioning

A language-neutral speech grammar extensible markup language (GRXML) document and a localized response document are used to build a localized GRXML document. The language-neutral GRXML document specifies an initial grammar rule element. The initial grammar rule element specifies a given response type identifier and a given action. The localized response document contains a given response entry that specifies the given response type identifier and a given response in a given language. The localized GRXML document specifies a new grammar rule element. The new grammar rule element specifies the given response in the given language and the given action. The localized GRXML document is installed in an interactive voice response (IVR) system. The localized GRXML document configures the IVR system to perform the given action when a user of the IVR system speaks the given response to the IVR system.

Localization for interactive voice response systems

A unified messaging (UM) application benefits from platform independence and human intelligibility of eXtended Markup Language (XML). A finite state machine (FSM) of the UM application is created utilizing an XML feature to create a valid menu state based upon a UM software component. For a UM software component that is a context or setting of the UM application, an XML conditional attribute conditions a prompt, transition or grammar node of the UM FSM. For a UM software component that is an XML snippet, an XML importation element replicates the XML snippet upon compilation, avoiding time-consuming and error prone requirements for manual code duplication. For a UM software component such as an external method, function, variable or action, a function wrapping XML tool validates the existence of such external UM software components at build time and captures version information to verify the availability of the same version upon execution.

Unified messaging state machine

Generating a series of digits corresponding to a personal identification number (PIN) of a user for unified messaging access to personal information management (PIM) data. Data involved in the generation of the series of digits along with the series of digits are stored for subsequent use during authentication of the user and PIN updates.

Manipulation of unified messaging pins

Localized prompt statements. For each prompt statement to be executed, identifying a resource string that corresponds to a variable associated with the prompt statement permits retrieval of one or more localized media files. For example, the media files may provide for playing spoken prompts in a localized language. Executing the prompt statement includes rendering the retrieved media files. In one aspect, the localized prompt statements contain both text and numeric values wherein a spoken prompt is grammatically correct for the numeric value contained in the prompt.

Localization of prompts

The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for securing audio-based access to application data. A client sends and a server receives a request for audio-based access to application data. The server sends a first audio challenge for a user credential in response to the request. The client receives the first audio challenge and sends a user credential. The server receives the user credential and sends a second audio challenge. The second audio challenge is configured to be understandable to a user of the client but difficult to recognize using automated voice recognition techniques. The client receives the second audio challenge and sends an additional portion of data responsive to the second audio challenge. The server receives the additional portion of data and calculates a client authorization based on the received user credential and received additional portion of data.

Securing audio-based access to application data

The principles of the present invention provide for categorizing electronic messages based on trust between electronic messaging entities. Messaging servers maintain trust lists indicating levels of trust between electronic messaging entities. Trust lists can be generated from existing trust information, such as, for example, address book entries. Messaging servers also maintain activity stores that indicate messaging activity between messaging entities. Based on information in a trust list and, when appropriate, information in an activity store, a messaging server can categorize an accessed electronic message, such as, for example, as unwanted and/or unsolicited. Messaging servers can securely exchange trust list information to increase the possibility of identifying a level of trust between messaging entities, even between messaging entities that have not previously exchanged electronic messages. Exchanged trust list information increases the possibility that a messaging server will be able to appropriately categorize an accessed electronic message.
