There is described a building automation system comprising a control center and an adapter for providing integration of subsystems. The adapter facilitates communications between the control center and a subsystem of the building automation system. A subsystem library of the control center receives an object model associated with the subsystem from the user interface. An extraction tool of the control center generates output information based on the object model. The control center is mapped to the adapter, so that a thing description may be communicated there between. The thing description includes a description of instances hosted by the adapter and representing the object model. An auto discovery component of the control center creates instances of the object model based on the thing description and addresses properties of the object model. The building automation system utilizes the instances and the addresses to manage the subsystem associated with the object model.

The method includes storing the description of the system object in association with the event enrollment object. Additionally, the method includes including the description of the system object in a notification of the alarm generated for event enrollment object.

Unified display of alarm configurations based on event enrollment objects

An arrangement for handling communication messages in a building control system includes a communication circuit and a control device. The communication circuit is operable to provide a first message on a communication network to a remote building control system device and to receive a responsive message generated by a remote building control system device responsive to the first message. The communication circuit is further operable to perform a first operation if the responsive message is received within a first time-out period and to perform a second operation if the responsive message is received after a first time-out period has expired. The control device is operable to generate a plurality of different time-out period values corresponding to a plurality of building control system devices and to provide information identifying the plurality of different time-out period values and their corresponding building control system devices to the communication circuit.
