The lighting fixture comprises a receptacle having a first sidewall and a second sidewall disposed in opposed relationship and a first end wall and a second end wall disposed in opposed relationship. A back wall extends from the first and second sidewalls from the first and second end walls. The sidewalls, end walls and back wall define a chamber. The u-shaped channel having a base and opposed legs extends from the first end wall to the second end wall. The base of the channel extends into the chamber. At least one Edison screw type base socket is positioned on at least one leg of the channel. The Edison screw type base socket is designed to accept a screw type light producing lamp.

Retrofit lighting kits allow for the reuse of fluorescent lighting fixture housings, already in place, while retrofitting new assemblies that increase efficiency, reduce energy consumption and demand, and reduce ongoing maintenance costs. The advantage of one retrofit kit is to quickly replace inefficient T-12 and T-8 ceiling mountbulb fixtures, with a higher quality, and more efficient lighting source, while concurrently lowering the cost of operation, and maintenance. The advantage of another retrofit kit allows the installation of compact fluorescent lamps, of several sizes and configurations, to quickly replace the inefficient T8 and T12 lamps and service equipment, used in troffer style fixtures. Deployment of these kits, reduces electrical usage, eases servicing of the fixture, and reduces heat buildup in the fixture.

A telephone annunciator is disclosed which includes a voice ROM with a prerecorded message which is played back in response to a call received from an unwanted caller. A line current modulator is coupled with the voice ROM and the telephone line. A DTMF tone decoder circuit is coupled with the telephone line for decoding at least one DTMF code signal for producing a trigger signal. An on/off control circuit is responsive to the trigger signal for turning on the voice ROM whereby the telephone line current is modulated by the modulator in accordance with the audio signal from the voice ROM. A start-up power supply includes a storage capacitor and stores a charge in response to a ring signal on the telephone line. A main power supply is connected with the telephone line to receive power therefrom when an off-hook signal is detected.
