A linear transport system includes a movable carriage, a guide rail for guiding the carriage, and a linear motor for driving the carriage along the guide rail. A system is provided for contactless power and data transmission; e.g., where power and data are each sent inductively via separate coils to the carriage of the linear transport system and/or received by the carriage of a linear transport system. A method of operating such a linear transport system and a contactless power and data transmission system are also included.

A drive module for a linear transport system comprises a housing and a stator, wherein a conveying device of the linear transport system with a magnet arrangement can be arranged on the housing. The stator is arranged in the housing, wherein the stator comprises at least one coil arrangement having at least one coil with at least one stator tooth. The coil arrangement is designed to switchably provide a magnetic traveling field, wherein the magnetic traveling field exits from the coil arrangement at the end faces and passes through the housing shells in order to enter into operative connection with the magnet arrangement of the conveying device of the linear transport system on the outer side of the housing for the purpose of forming a magnetic coupling.

A conveying device for a linear transport system, wherein the conveying device comprises at least one rolling unit and a carrier unit, wherein the carrier unit is of U-shaped configuration and has an outer side and an inner side, wherein the inner side bounds a receiving space for receiving a running rail of the linear transport system, wherein the rolling unit is arranged in the receiving space in a manner spaced apart from the inner side, wherein the inner side and/or the outer side are/is substantially free from undercuts and/or corners and/or bumps, and/or wherein the inner side and/or the outer side are/is of substantially smooth configuration.

Conveying device and linear transport system

A linear motor comprises a stator, the stator comprising multiple drive coils and an intermediate circuit electrically conductively connected to each drive coil, the intermediate circuit being configured to exchange energy with each drive coil. The drive coils are arranged along the running rail, where at least one slide comprising a magnet acting as a rotor of the linear motor is movably arranged on the running rail. A controller is configured to independently control each drive coil, so that electrical energy is fed from the intermediate circuit into the drive coils, if a measured intermediate circuit voltage is greater or equal to a predetermined intermediate circuit voltage threshold value, where those drive coils are excluded from the feed-in of the electrical energy which are instantaneously being used for driving or braking the at least one slide and/or have a thermal load which exceeds a predetermined thermal load threshold value.
