In the data exchange method in a multiprocessor system which has a primary processor and at least one secondary processor which communicate with one another via a system bus, with data being able to be exchanged with an application system via an interface to the primary processor, recurrent standard messages contain application data, so that, first, it is possible for application data to be prescribed during the application of the multiprocessor system, and, second, an application data item used as a polling system can be used to display values of memory cells in the secondary processors on the application system without the user on the application system needing to have any knowledge of the internal structure of the multiprocessor system.

Data exchange method in a multi-processor system

An internal combustion engine has an electromechanical valve train, in which the valve control device houses not only the output stage for the ignition system and the output stage for the fuel injection system. The valve control device can rapidly prevent the ignition of the air/fuel mixture in the cylinder affected by the valve failure of an electromechanically actuated valve. Moreover, all output stages important for the thermal combustion process are combined in one control device, which is advantageously connected to a water-cooling system.

In the event of a failure or a disruption of an exchange of data between a valve control unit and an operational control unit of an internal combustion engine with electromechanically activated inlet valves, a valve control unit switches over the electromagnetic activation of the inlet valves to full-load control times. The operational control unit suitably sets a throttle valve in order to cause the load control of the internal combustion engine no longer to be performed by the valve load control but rather by the throttle-valve load control in the emergency operating mode.

In order to control electromechanically activated charge cycle valves, a circuit is provided in which placement control elements actuate an output stage for the electromechanically activated charge cycle valves and control a gentle placement of the charge cycle valves in a respective end position. As a result, the placement control elements are freed of communications functions and can be dedicated to performing the placement control in real time.

An internal combustion engine has a plurality of cylinders to which in each case at least one inlet valve and one outlet valve are assigned. A valve drive is assigned for controlling the inlet valve and a valve drive is assigned for controlling the outlet valve. The valve control time for the inlet valve of a cylinder is calculated at least one segment later than the valve control time for the outlet valve of the same cylinder. The segment is determined by the phase angle between the upper dead centers of two pistons of cylinders which follow one another directly in the ignition sequence.

A method and an engine control for suppressing vibration in the drive train of a motor vehicle include detecting a variable being dependent on a speed of an engine, deriving and evaluating a gradient from the variable, reducing a torque of the engine by varying an ignition angle if impermissible vibration is detected, and controlling the torque reduction as a function of an upper and a lower threshold value for the gradient. An ignition intervention is carried out for reducing the engine torque if the gradient is below the lower threshold. The ignition intervention is cancelled if the gradient exceeds the upper threshold value. First lower threshold values are stored in a first performance graph, and second higher threshold values are stored in a second performance graph to which a switchover is made after a first tripping of an anti-bucking function.

Method and engine control for suppressing vibration of the drive train

A method is provided for recognizing erratic combustion in a multicylinder internal combustion engine by using a time measuring device to measure successive time periods which a crankshaft needs to rotate through predetermined angles during operating strokes of successive cylinders. The method includes determining a static component by using a calculating device to subtract a time period of the next cylinder in an ignition order from the time period of a cylinder to be examined. The static component is multiplied with a standardizing factor by using the calculating device. A dynamic component is determined by using the calculating device to subtract a time period of a next cylinder in the ignition order from a time period of a preceding cylinder in the ignition order, and a dynamic component is negated. A change component for a lack of smoothness value is formed, the lack of smoothness value is multiplied with a weighting factor to form a weighted value, and the weighted value is set equal to zero if the weighted value is negative. A sliding average is formed from the weighted value in a sliding averaging process. A lack of smoothness value is determined from addition of the static component, the dynamic component, and the sliding average. A combustion misfire is recognized if the smoothness value falls below a given limit value.

A method for identifying and correcting errors in time measurement on rotating shafts, particularly on crankshafts or shafts connected thereto in internal combustion engines, whereby the shafts are provided with marks which are scanned with sensors. The segment times required by the shaft to rotate about a defined angular distance are measured and compared with a reference segment.

A method for identifying misfiring is employed in an internal combustion engine with multiple cylinders. The identification is effected by measuring segment times required for the crankshaft to rotate about given angular segments during the cylinder work cycle. Any fluctuations are then calculated and compared with threshold values. During thrust cutoff, i.e. when no fuel is supplied to the cylinders, errors in the segment time measurement are identified and corrected, and in dependence of the number of the completed cycles for calculating the correction factors, the threshold values are modified.
