The present invention relates to a yeast cell of thegenus comprising an orthologous promoter of a methylotrophic yeast cell or a variant thereof inducible by derepression, wherein the orthologous promoter is an orthologous formate dehydrogenase (FMD) promoter of a methylotrophic yeast cell.
