An illumination device with a number of light sources arranged in at least two groups of light sources that are individually controllable. The first group of light sources () have light collectors () such as internal reflection (TIR) lenses, mixers or other lenses placed over them to collect and convert light of the light sources into a number of light source beams. The second group of light sources () pass light through diffusing areas () of a diffuser () in the form of a diffusion cover included in the lamp housing to diffuse the light and create a background light for the first group of light sources. The light from the first group of light sources pass through non diffusing regions () of the diffuser cover without the light being diffused. The second group of light sources are interleaved with the first group by the diffuser having one or several diffusion areas between non diffusion areas. By controlling both groups of light sources based on the same target color the dotted look of led light sources can be removed or by controlling the two groups of light sources based on two different colors light effects can be obtained. The illumination device can be included in a moving head light source with a base, a yoke connected rotatably to the base and the head connected rotatably to the head.

The present invention relates to an illumination system comprising at least one light source and an optical light mixing rod. The illumination system comprises a rod holder holding the optical light mixing rod in a position, where the entrance surface of the optical light mixing rod is arranged above the emitting window of the light source. The optical light mixing rod is from in a flexible and solid transparent material and the rod holder is adapted to provide a pressure force to the optical light mixing rod and the pressure force is adapted to press the entrance surface of the optical light mixing rod and the emitting window of the light source together. The optical light mixing rod comprises a bulge the entrance surface and the pressure force presses the bulge flat against the emitting window of the light source.

The present invention relates to an illumination system comprising at least one light source and an optical light mixing rod. The illumination system comprises a rod holder holding the optical light mixing rod in a position, where the entrance surface of the optical light mixing rod is arranged above the emitting window of the light source. The optical light mixing rod is formed in a flexible and solid transparent material and is accommodated in a hollow part of the rod holder. The rod holder is adapted to provide a pressure force to the optical light mixing rod and the pressure force is adapted to press the entrance surface of the optical light mixing rod and the emitting window of the light source together.

The present invention relates to a moving head light fixture comprising a base; a yoke connected rotatable to the base and a head connected rotatable to the yoke. The head comprises a number of light sources and a number of light collecting means arranged in the head, where the number of light collecting means collect and convert light from at least one of the light sources into a number of source light beams which are emitted from said head. The head comprises a diffuser cover, which comprises at least one diffuser region. The diffuser region receives and diffuses at least a part of the light and at least a part of the diffuser cover protrudes from the head. The invention relates to a illumination system comprising such a moving head and a diffuser cover protruding from the head of for a moving head light fixture.

A light fixture and a method for control of a light fixture is supervised by at least one thermoswitch which protects the light source by disconnecting the power supply to the light source at elevated temperature. To achieve a safety circuit in a light fixture without switching the supply circuit to a light source, the at least one thermoswitch is connected to a low voltage safety loop, which safety loop is connected to a current source that generates a constant current in the safety loop. The safety loop is supervised by a current measuring device. Hereby, it is achieved that the switching, if temperature rises, is achieved by switching contacts that only carry a very limited current. This will increase the life time of the thermoswitch and very small switches can be used.

A light fixture comprising a head, which head with at least one light source, which head is carried rotatably in a yoke, which yoke rotates in relation to a base, which bases comprises bearings for the yoke, which base has at least a power module, which power module has at least one ballast circuit, which base has at least one controller. By the base having at least one drawer in which at least the power module is located, a fast exchange of the power module in a light source in situations of changing technical specifications of the power module can be achieved very easily. This can be important in a light fixture placed high above the ground if it needs to have an electronic module exchanged.
