An apparatus for producing packaging, in particular composite packaging for liquid foodstuffs, having a cross-sectional area that decreases in the pour-out direction in the gable region. The packaging is composed of a sleeve having a gable region having a plurality of gable faces and a pouring element. The apparatus has at least one rotatable mandrel wheel having a plurality of mandrels for holding the sleeves. Additionally, a method for producing such packaging and a gable press for use with the aforementioned apparatus. In order to allow easier and more cost-effective production, it is proposed that the apparatus has a gable press, assigned to a single mandrel wheel position, for folding the gable region, for connecting all the gable faces of the gable region of the sleeve to the pouring element and for sealing the protruding ears in the same mandrel wheel position.

Provided is a package sleeve made of a composite material for the manufacture of a package, including: a front surface, a rear surface, two side surfaces, base surfaces and gable surfaces which are arranged on opposite sides of the two side surfaces, the front surface and the rear surface, and a longitudinal seam which connects two edges of the composite material to form a package sleeve. The package sleeve has several fold lines. The two side surfaces have a secondary fold line running therethrough. The package sleeve is folded along both secondary fold lines. The invention relates to a method for forming package bodies open at one end from package sleeves open at both ends for the manufacture of filled packages. In order to allow packages with a cross section which is neither square nor rectangular to be formed more simply and reliably, the package sleeves are kept ready for further processing in a stack, folded flat along at least two folded edges running in the longitudinal direction of the package sleeve, the flat-folded package sleeves are transferred in succession from the stack to a forming station, the package sleeves are unfolded in a forming station and the unfolded package sleeves are, in the forming station, pushed onto a mandrel in order to close, in particular seal, a longitudinal end of the package sleeve.

A pouring element for a package having a base body, a polyhedrally formed flange, the flange inner surfaces of which converge in face abutments, for joining to a package sleeve and at least one holding element projecting on the inside of the flange for operatively connecting to a mandrel of a packaging machine, as well as a pouring element with polyhedrally formed gable surfaces, which are correspondingly joined to the polyhedrally formed flange. Provision is made for the holding element to be formed as a rounding in the area of the face abutments on the inside of the flange, in order to prevent the pouring element from becoming damaged during the whole joining process with the package sleeve when putting the pouring element onto, holding it on and removing it from the mandrel and additionally in order to guarantee a secure and precise hold.

A carton sleeve of a composite material for producing a carton is illustrated and described, including: a sleeve area, a longitudinal seam that joins two edges of the composite material to form an all-round carton sleeve, and two pseudo fold lines that pass through the sleeve area, wherein the carton sleeve is folded along both pseudo fold lines. In order to allow the production of cartons with a more complex geometry, it is envisaged that the carton sleeve in the region of the sleeve area has no further or no continuous fold lines apart from the two pseudo fold lines. The invention relates to a device and method used for pressing at least one area of a packaging. The packaging is composed of a multilayer composite material at least in some areas. A pressing tool used for pressing comprises at least one contour element that can be inserted into an interior of the packaging and at least one pressing element that is arranged outside of the interior and opposite the contour element. The pressing element and the contour element are arranged so that the pressing element and the contour element can be positioned relative to each other. The pressing element has an elastic consistency and is provided with a flexible reinforcing device at least in the area of the extent of the pressing element facing the contour element.

An arrangement for rolling the frontal end of a deformable sleeve-shaped container jacket comprises a supporting surface which radially supports the container jacket in the area of its end. The invention relates to a device and a method for supplying and processing packages arranged on carrier elements, especially drinks packages, using a continuous conveyor belt on which the carrier elements are arranged. The aim of the invention is to be able to further process carrier elements which are continuously supplied by means of a conveyor belt in a processing station in a reliable manner with few technical resources. To this end, two advancing rollers are provided to the right and to the left of the conveyor belt, the rotational axes thereof being perpendicular to the plane of the conveyor belt; two rotating clock belts are provided in the running direction of the conveyor belt, behind the advancing rollers; said clock belts rotate in a plane parallel to the plane of the conveyor belt, and respectively comprise a strand facing the other clock belt; and the strands facing each other run parallel to each other, at a distance corresponding to the width of the carrier elements.
