A positioning system receiver is disclosed. The positioning system receiver includes an antenna for receiving radio frequency (RF) signals. The positioning system receiver also includes a radio frequency front end system configured to convert the received RF signals into intermediate frequency signals. The positioning system receiver further includes a digital processing and correlation system, receiving the intermediate frequency signals and including a plurality of taps on the autocorrelation function main lobe and a plurality of taps on at least one of the autocorrelation function side lobes. The digital processing and correlation system uses the signals received from the taps in a dot product detector algorithm to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the receiver system.

A system for interconnecting multiple GPS receivers via a single line to simultaneously communicate both serial data and precise timing pulses to numerous GPS receivers using a time multiplexed data format.

A low-cost interference reduction system reduces interfering and jamming signals in a global positioning system receiver for such applications as rotating weapons and hand-held GPS receivers. A pair of antennas having a spin symmetric gain pattern receive global positioning system signals and interfering signals. An antijam electronics function connected to the antennas processes the global positioning system signals and the interfering signals to produce an output signal with reduced interfering signal levels. The global positioning system receiver is connected to the antijam electronics function for processing the global positioning system signals into position solutions and for providing a power detector output and a clock output to the antijam electronics function.

Low cost interference reduction system for GPS receivers

Provided are a method of and a circuit for processing GPS signals in the L1 frequency band centered around frequency f.sub.L1 and GPS signals in the L2 frequency band centered around frequency f.sub.L2. The L1 frequency band signals are combined with the L2 frequency band signals to obtain a combined signal having both an L1 frequency band component and an L2 frequency band component. The combined signal is frequency converted by mixing it with a local oscillator signal centered around a frequency f.sub.L0 to obtain a frequency converted combined signal centered around a third center frequency f.sub.C3. The frequency converted combined signal is filtered to provide an output signal having substantially all of its components centered around the third center frequency f.sub.C3. The frequency f.sub.L0 of the local oscillator signal is selectively controlled to thereby control whether the output signal contains frequency components corresponding to only the L1 frequency band signal, to only the L2 frequency band signal, or to both of the L1 and L2 frequency band signals.
