A device for controlling a braking system of a vehicle may include a position sensor device which is designed to detect a position of a brake pedal and/or a piston of a main brake cylinder actuated by the brake pedal at multiple times, a pressure sensor device which is designed to detect a pressure in a fluid located in the cylinder at multiple times, and a control device which is designed to shift a braking assistance device into an activated state. The control device may make the shift when a temporal change of the detected position exceeds a predefined position gradient threshold value and/or if the distance between two detected positions exceeds a predefined position threshold value, wherein the position gradient threshold value or the position threshold value is provided according to a change in the detected pressure.

The invention is directed to a brake control system having an electronic control device, a brake pedal, via the actuation of which a braking intent in the form of a pedal travel and/or a pilot pressure and/or a pedal force is specifiable by the driver. The system further includes secondary braking components which are controllable decoupled from the brake pedal for setting pressure values in the wheel brake cylinders of a motor vehicle wheel. According to the invention, the brake pedal characteristic is variably specifiable as a function of defined conditions.

A device for controlling the brake lights in a motor vehicle having a brake system, designed to be operated by outside forces, is described. The device includes a control device for actuating the brakes of the vehicle in such a manner that an automatic braking operation can be carried out as a function of the vehicle operating conditions, and at least one brake lamp which can be actuated by the control device or by a separate control unit. The control device or the control unit may be designed in such a manner that during an automatic braking operation, the brake lamp is switched on below a predefined boundary speed, as a function of a braking pressure determined in the activated brake of the vehicle, or as a function of a parameter correlating to the braking pressure.

A method and a device for controlling the brake system of a vehicle, wherein a stand-by phase is made available. The stand-by phase is initiated as soon as the input pressure exceeds a threshold value Sand the rate of change of input pressure exceeds a third threshold value SB. The third threshold value SB is smaller than a second threshold value S, which when exceeded immediately changes the braking operation into a full braking support operation. When the third threshold value SB is exceeded or when the stand-by phase is entered, the brake support system is activated or becomes ready to use, however, a full braking support operation is not triggered yet. During the stand-by phase, the braking behavior of the driver is continually monitored.

Method and device for controlling the brake system of a vehicle

A braking system for a vehicle in which, when a brake pedal is depressed, a corresponding braking effect is generated. The system includes an operating device which is in operative connection with an accelerator pedal, for setting a desired deceleration. When the accelerator pedal is released, the braking system brakes the vehicle corresponding to the set desired deceleration.

Method and apparatus for setting a desired deceleration of a vehicle

A device is provided for controlling brake lights in a vehicle. The vehicle has a braking system designed for outside force actuation, a control device for controlling the vehicle brakes, and a brake light switch located in the vicinity of a brake pedal, which is connected with a control device for controlling at least one brake light. A method and a device for the open-loop control of a vehicle hydraulic braking system having an anti-lock braking system, the vehicle having two axles to which wheels are attached and having wheel brakes that are coupled to a pedal-actuated master brake cylinder via hydraulic lines in which valve devices are provided. When the anti-lock system is triggered at at least one wheel of an axle, an active brake-pressure buildup is carried out at the wheel brakes of the other axle in order to attain a fully developed deceleration of the vehicle. The initial pressure between the master brake cylinder and the valve devices is used as the control criterion for the active brake-pressure buildup. In response to the fulfillment of a switch-off condition for the fully developed deceleration, the fully developed deceleration is switched off using a delay ramp.
