The production costs of electrical machines are to be reduced. To this end, it should be possible to use standard transmitters for different axis heights of the electrical machine. The invention therefore provides a transmitter cover for an electrical machine, having a pot-like hood () for mounting on the electrical machine and for covering a transmitter, wherein the hood () has a central axis. The transmitter cover also has a mounting ring () which engages on the hood () in an interlocking manner. As a result, the hood () is pressed against the electrical machine in the axial direction when the mounting ring () is fixed to the electrical machine. This can prevent fastening screws () colliding with other fastening screws on the motor, this possibly being the case when only the hood () is used to cover the transmitter.

The invention relates to an electric machine () comprising a rotor and a stator, the rotor having a shaft () and the longitudinal extension of the electric machine () being defined by the shaft axis. The electric machine () can be cooled by means of a cooling circuit, the latter comprising at least one cooling pipe (), which extends essentially in the longitudinal direction of the electric machine (). The cooling circuit comprises a first circular distribution pipe () that forms almost a complete circle, which stretches over one plane, the axis of the longitudinal extension of the electric machine () being essentially perpendicular to said plane. According to the invention: at least one cooling pipe () can be connected in a water-tight manner to the first distribution pipe (); the cooling circuit can be traversed by a coolant and has a first connection (), which allows coolant to be supplied to the cooling circuit; and the cooling circuit has a second connection (), which allows coolant to be evacuated from the cooling circuit. The first distribution pipe () is cast in one piece () from metal and said piece () has openings () for the cooling pipes () at the connection points of the first distribution pipe () to the cooling pipes (). Once installed, the piece () is connected to the housing of the electric machine () so that it can conduct heat and/or forms an integral part of the housing.

Electric machine

The housing of an electrical machine should, despite efficient cooling, be provided with a more compact design. To this end, the invention provides that the cooling ducts () of a housing (), which is preferably provided in the form of an aluminum extruded profile, are left open toward the inside. The inner walls of the cooling ducts () are then formed by an inserted stator pack (). This enables the corner areas of the housing to be kept free for assembly and the reduction of material for manufacturing the housing (). In addition, due to the open cooling air ducts (), thin wall thicknesses in the profile and thus small motor dimensions while simultaneously having a large cooling duct cross-section can be realized.

Housing for an electrical machine

A fan housing for an electric machine includes a housing body for accommodation of the electric machine having a mounting flange for securement to a motor-driven element. The housing body defines a longitudinal axis and includes a cross-shaped or star-shaped configuration in vertical relationship to the longitudinal axis. Thus, when the electric machine is inserted in the fan housing, the corners of the mounting flange of the electric machine for attachment to the motor-driven element remain clear for easy access to screw fasteners.
