Techniques regarding privacy preservation in a federated learning environment are provided. For example, one or more embodiments described herein can comprise a system, which can comprise a memory that can store computer executable components. The system can also comprise a processor, operably coupled to the memory, and that can execute the computer executable components stored in the memory. The computer executable components can comprise a plurality of machine learning components that can execute a machine learning algorithm to generate a plurality of model parameters. The computer executable components can also comprise an aggregator component that can synthesize a machine learning model based on an aggregate of the plurality of model parameters. The aggregator component can communicate with the plurality of machine learning components via a data privacy scheme that comprises a privacy process and a homomorphic encryption process in a federated learning environment.

Private and federated learning

A computer system may include a processor and a memory coupled thereto. The memory may include a database. The processor may be configured to randomly split the database into sub-databases and applying a database query to the sub-databases. The processor may also be configured to generate respective estimated query response values for each sub-database based upon applying the database query, calculate a median of the estimated query response values, and generate a probability distribution based upon the estimated query response values and the calculated median. The processor may further be configured to select a final estimated query response value based upon the probability distribution.

The invention recites a filtration tank including a chamber for holding liquid to be filtered, the filtration tank includes a fluid inlet for providing liquid to the chamber. The filtration tank further includes a fluid outlet and at least one filter block disposed between the inlet and the outlet, wherein the at least one filter block includes a porous cap having an average pore size of up to about 250 microns.

An apparatus and method of manufacturing a wire mesh laminate includes wrapping a central core with multiple layers of mesh screen and a barrier layer having a higher melting point than the mesh screen to form a spool assembly. The spool assembly is then surrounded by an outer cover and is heated to sinter or fuse together the layers of mesh screen.

A self-regulating tide gate is installed on a conduit connecting an open body of water with a protected body of water. The tide gate comprises a mounting plate secured to the conduit at its end in the open body of water, the mounting plate defining an opening into the conduit. A door has its upper edge pivotally mounted at the top of the conduit, a door float is mounted to the door on its edge opposite the hinged edge and counterfloats are mounted to counterfloat arms extending from the door across the pivot axis thereof. When the water is below a critical level at which it is desired that the door close, the door float maintains the lower edge of the door on the surface of the water, thereby maintaining the door open and blocking debris from jamming the mouth of the conduit. As the water level rises, it acts on the counterfloat to pivot the door towards its closed position, whereafter the door is caught in the flow of water entering the conduit and rapidly pivoted to its closed position. The counterfloats are attached to the counterfloat arms by links, the length of which is selected to achieve closure of the door at the desired critical level. A vacuum break conduit comprises an air pipe intersecting the conduit adjacent the mounting plate for the door, the air pipe extending above the critical water level. A lid is provided on the open end of the air pipe and a counterweighted float maintains the lid open until water rises to near the open end of the conduit whereafter the counterweighted float closes the lid to block the air pipe. The air pipe is open when the door closes, and permits air to enter the conduit immediately behind the door to reduce the pressure differential across the door immediately after it closes.

Self-regulating fluid control valves

Self-regulating tide gates comprise a door pivotally mounted to the end of a conduit connecting two separated bodies of water. The door is held open to permit full reciprocal flow between a protected one of the bodies of water and the other body of water until the flow would cause an undesirably high water level in the protected body of water. A float senses the water level and releases the door, which then closes a cut off further flow of water. In some embodiments, the door is hingedly connected to the lower edge of the conduit, is buoyant, and is retained in its open position until the float releases it for self-closing. A latching mechanism is employed to hold the door open, or the weight of the float and its connecting float rod accomplish this purpose. In other embodiments, the door is pivotally hinged to the upper edge of the conduit and is provided with counterweights to maintain it in its open position. A float operates against the counterweight to release the door for closing. A stilling well comprising a vertical shaft intersecting the conduit connecting the two bodies of water provides an installation site for the self-regulating tide gates, and the water level in the stilling well follows the water level in the protected body of water during flow thereto. The float is also positioned in the stilling well to secure this level. A vacuum break conduit comprising an upwardly extending conduit intersecting the conduit connecting the two bodies of water adjacent the door provides an air passageway to the conduit which prevents formation of a vacuum behind the door upon closing, and thereby also prevents the damage to the door which would otherwise occur because of the formation of such a vacuum.
