A device to position a patient in a selected body position, such as a Trendelenburg or flexed position, on an operating table. The device includes a board, shoulder supports removably coupled to and extending substantially perpendicular from the board, and a cushioning mat positioned to lie between the patient and the board and the shoulder supports when the patient is placed on the device. A locking mechanism removably couples the shoulder supports to the board to allow the cushioning mat to lie flat when the shoulder supports are decoupled from the board and thereby selectively provide access to a neck and shoulders of the patient when the patient is placed on the device.

Apparatus and system for collection and storage of vital signs medical information and methods related thereto

The invention provides a support system having an envelope of flexible material within which a flexible cellular support cell is positioned upon an innerspring support cell. The flexible cellular support cell may comprise a damped gas displacement support cell or a damped fluid displacement support cell, which may be surrounded by a relatively thick resilient material. The innerspring support cell may comprise a gatched pediatric innerspring. Various system embodiments are described and illustrated.

Combined cellular material and innerspring support system

A locking apparatus is operative to selectively prevent the folding of a wheelchair of the type having a pair of centrally pivoted cross braces under the wheelchair seat. A bracket member is provided at each end of a pin which is adapted to constitute the pivot for the cross braces. An elongate bar is hinged at one end to one of the brackets and is adapted to be swung into a position between the cross braces so as to obstruct folding. A locking device operates between the other end of the bar and the other of the brackets for selectively retaining the bar in obstructing position.
