A feeding device for digital processing machine includes a paper passage, a friction device, and a sheet-feeding module. The sheet-feeding module is disposed in the paper passage and opposite to the friction device. The sheet-feeding module includes a sheet-feeding roller, a first idle wheel, and a belt. The sheet-feeding roller is for separating a sheet with the friction device. The first idle wheel is disposed in the upstream side of the sheet-feeding roller. The belt encircles the first idle wheel and the axle of the sheet-feeding roller. The sheet-feeding module rotates from a first position to a second position when the sheet-feeding roller rotates, such that the belt contacts the sheet when the sheet-feeding module is at the second position.

Feeding device

A scanning device comprises a light source, a reflecting mirror and a photosensor. The light source provides light to an original. A first portion of the light penetrates through a hole of the original and becomes penetrating light. A second portion of the light is reflected by a hole-free portion of the original and becomes second reflected light. The reflecting mirror reflects the penetrating light and generates first reflected light. The photosensor receives the first reflected light and the second reflected light and generates a hole-containing image signal representative of an image of the original.

A duplex peripheral comprises: a passage; a feeding mechanism transporting a medium into the passage; two scanning modules disposed on two sides of the passage and acquiring front and reverse side images of the medium, respectively; a transporting mechanism transporting the medium through the passage and past the scanning modules; a control module, electrically connected to the scanning modules, the feeding mechanism and the transporting mechanism, and digitizing the front side image and the reverse side image; and an output unit electrically connected to the control module, and receiving and outputting the front and reverse side images. A width of the medium that can be accommodated within the passage and the feeding mechanism is greater than or equal to a short side of an A4 size sheet. The transporting mechanism defines a transportable gap smaller than or equal to a short side of an A7 size sheet.

Duplex peripheral capable of processing large-size and small-size documents

A smart copy apparatus comprises a scanning module, a processing module and a printing module. The scanning module scans an original to obtain fragment scan images. The processing module electrically connected to the scanning module receives the fragment scan images, and determines a size of the original according to the fragment scan images to obtain a scan-size parameter, and generates print data according to the fragment scan images, the scan-size parameter and a print parameter. The printing module receives the print data, and prints the print data on a print medium.

Smart copy apparatus

A printing device for providing multiple documents of one type includes a data receiving portion for receiving an image data, a processor, and a printing module. The processor is used to process the image data to generate a first printing information and a second printing information. The printing module is used to print a first document and a second document according to the first and second printing information, respectively. The first printing information includes the image data and a first identifying information, and the second printing information includes the image data and a second identifying information different from the first identifying information. The first identifying information is composed of a first set of halftone pattern, a first set of lines or a combining information thereof. The second identifying information is composed of a second set of halftone pattern, a second set of lines or a combining information thereof.

Printing device for providing multiple documents of one type

An image reproducing method for a digital processing machine is provided. The image reproducing method includes the following steps: scanning an original to generate image data; analyzing the image data to generate an analysis result; designating M proper user setting items among N user setting items according to the analysis result, wherein N and M are positive integers, and M is less than N; providing only the M proper user setting items on a human-machine interface; and outputting a copy of the original according to a user input received through the human-machine interface. In addition, a digital processing machine providing an intelligent human-machine interface is also provided.

Image reproducing method and digital processing machine using such method

A sheet-fed scanner comprising a scan channel, a feeding unit, a transmitting unit, a background sheet, a background light source and a scan module is provided. The feeding unit is disposed at an inlet of the scan channel for feeding a document. The transmitting unit transmits the document to pass through the scan channel. The background sheet is disposed on a side of the scan channel, and has a first surface and a second surface. The first surface faces towards the scan channel. The background light source faces towards the second surface to provide an intermittent light signal to the background sheet, so that the background sheet correspondingly displays an intermittent variation background image on the first surface. The scan module is disposed on another side of the scan channel, and captures a document image of a document and the intermittent variation background image to generate scan data accordingly.

Sheet-fed scanner and image scanning method using the same

A linear light source module comprises a holder, a first light guide, a second light guide, a first light-emitting element and a second light-emitting element. The first and second light guides are mounted on the holder and arranged in series, where the first light guide has a first emitting surface and the second light guide has a second emitting surface. The holder partially surrounds the first and second light guides. The first light-emitting element is disposed close to a first end of the first light guide, and a light beam emitted by the first light-emitting element is reflected and converted by the first light guide into first linear light emitted from the first emitting surface. The second light-emitting element is disposed close to a first end of the second light guide, and a light beam emitted by the second light-emitting element is reflected and converted by the second light guide into second linear light emitted from the second emitting surface. An optical assembly for a scanner using such linear light source module is also disclosed.

An image capturing apparatus includes a housing, a processor module, a sheet feeder, an image capturing assembly, a display module and an operation interface. The image capturing assembly captures both of first and second images of a document sheet, past a scan region and transported by the sheet feeder, and produces first and second image data representative of the first and second images in either a single-sided or double-sided scanning mode. The display module displays representation images of the first and second images. The operation interface receives user input and outputs a selection signal comprising information of selecting at least one of the first and second images. The processor module processes at least one of the first and second image data into output image data according to the selection signal.

Image capturing apparatus for adjusting image attributes

A scanner includes a reference backing member, a scan assembly and a light-obstruction member. The scan assembly, disposed opposite the reference backing member, scans a reference block of the reference backing member and an original block of an original in a scan region. The scan assembly includes a light source for emitting a first light beam in a direction toward the reference block, and emitting a second light beam in a direction toward the original block. The light-obstruction member, disposed between the reference backing member and the scan assembly, includes a light-obstruction part, disposed in a first optical path of the first light beam and outside a second optical path of the second light beam, for blocking a portion of the first light beam from reaching the reference block.

Scanner having background assembly

A scanner includes a platen assembly, a sheet feeder and a scanning module. The platen assembly and the sheet feeder are combined together to form a non-linear paper path. The paper path has a scan region. The sheet feeder includes a feeding mechanism, a transporting mechanism and a discharging mechanism. The feeding mechanism feeds a document into the paper path. The transporting mechanism transports the document from the feeding mechanism to the scan region. The document is transported past the scan region in a direction substantially parallel to a scan plane in the scan region. The discharging mechanism transports the document out of the paper path from the scan region. The scanning module movably disposed in the platen assembly acquires an image of the document transported past the scan region.

Automatic sheet-feeding scanner having non-linear paper path

A scanning device includes a transparent platen, a scanning module, a document transporting mechanism and a flexible pressing member. The scanning module is located in a scan zone and acquires through the transparent platen an image of a document. The document transporting mechanism transports the document along a passageway and across the scan zone. The flexible pressing member is disposed in the passageway, upstream of the scan zone or within the scan zone and located apart from the transparent platen by a gap. The flexible pressing member is deformed in a direction away from the transparent platen due to a force applied by the document transported across the scan zone.

In a feeder assembly, an automatic document feeder is electrically connected to a scan-sorting unit. The scan-sorting unit scans, one by one, front sides of originals fed by the automatic document feeder to obtain a plurality of original image signals, and sorts, one by one, the original image signals to output a plurality of sorting signals. The automatic document feeder includes a sheet input tray, a sheet output module and a sheet-feeding mechanism. The sheet-feeding mechanism feeds the originals from the sheet input tray to the sheet output module. The sheet output module is configured to sort the originals into a plurality of original groups placed in the sheet output module according to the sorting signals. The scan-sorting unit sorts the original image signals into signal groups corresponding to the original groups according to the sorting signals, and stores the original image signals according to the signal groups.

A sheet feeding device, for transporting a sheet into a transporting path in an image processing apparatus, includes an elastic pad and a feeding roller for feeding the sheet. The elastic pad is bent and disposed opposite the feeding roller and applies an acting force to the feeding roller to separate the sheet from a stack of sheets by cooperating with the feeding roller. The elastic pad has a first side and an opposite second side. The second side is formed with a groove. The elastic pad is bent at an angle at the groove.

A scanning apparatus for scanning a bound document includes a scanning flatbed, a lighting device, and a scanning head assembly. The scanning flatbed includes a platen and an inclined plane, wherein the platen is adjoined with the inclined plane, and the platen supports a document to be scanned. The lighting device, facing the scanning flatbed, projects light onto the document, wherein the lighting device includes a first portion and a second portion, and the first portion and the second portion respectively comprise a plurality of LEDs arranged in an array. The scanning head assembly, coupled to the lighting device, scans the document. The first portion is located closer to the inclined plane than the second portion, and intervals between the LEDs of the first portion are smaller than intervals between the LEDs of the second portion.
