In order to offer an improved brake device without vacuum booster, in the case of which brake device the zero point of the cylinder piston remains as far as possible permanently within defined narrow tolerances and at the same time the impact noise is reliably reduced, it is proposed that the stop disk is elastically reversibly compressible in an axial direction over a defined compression travel and has the compression travel delimited, the delimitation being defined in a travel-controlled manner.

A brake device for a hydraulic motor vehicle brake system, having a housing, at least one pressure chamber arranged in the housing, filled with a hydraulic pressure medium and bounded by at least one cylinder piston moveable in an axial direction to generate brake pressure. The cylinder piston can be activated mechanically with an activation force by an activation rod unit which is secured to the cylinder piston. In order to provide an improved brake device which is of the generic type mentioned at the beginning and permit a secure connection between the activation rod and the cylinder piston and at the same time mounting which is as easy as possible, it is proposed that the activation rod unit is secured to the cylinder piston by a latching connection, wherein the latching connection is brought about by an axial relative movement between the activation rod unit and the cylinder piston.

A brake device for a hydraulic motor vehicle brake system without a vacuum booster, with a housing with at least one pressure chamber arranged therein, with a cylinder piston which can be axially moved in an actuation direction by an actuating rod unit coupled to the cylinder piston in order to generate brake pressure, wherein a rigid stop is provided for the cylinder piston which defines the non-actuated starting position of the cylinder piston. In order to provide an improved brake device of the above-mentioned type, which permits simple and reliable detection of the zero point and simultaneously has reduced noise emission on the return, a damping element is provided which permits a mechanical decoupling of the actuating rod unit from the cylinder piston in a release direction opposite the actuation direction by reversible deformation.

A retaining assembly for fixing a flange part, which is provided on a braking device, to a firewall of a motor vehicle, the firewall separating an engine chamber from a vehicle interior. A retaining plate is secured to the firewall face facing the engine chamber, and the flange part and the retaining plate are engaged with each other by both a form-fitting as well as force-fitting connection.

Disclosed is a brake actuation unit for actuating a 'brake-by-wire' type brake system for a motor vehicle. The brake system includes a brake booster operable via a brake pedal mounted on a shaft and via an electronic control unit depending on the driver's request, and an element to decouple a force-transmitting connection between the brake pedal and the brake booster in the 'brake-by-wire' operating mode. Also included are a device to detect a deceleration request of the driver, and a pedal travel simulator which interacts with the brake pedal and is formed of a simulator spring, which is arranged in terms of effect between a force-transmitting part connected to the brake pedal and a simulator housing, which is mounted on the shaft by means of two bearings. The simulator housing () includes a cylindrical area () for the accommodation of the two bearings (). This measure renders it possible to reduce the deformations that occur during actuation of the pedal travel simulator to a great extent.

Brake actuation unit for actuating a motor vehicle brake system

'Brake-by-wire' type brake system

Disclosed is a brake actuating unit for actuating a motor vehicle brake system of the 'brake-by-wire' type. The system includes a brake booster which is operable in response to the driver's wish both by a brake pedal and by an electronic control unit. A device is provided to decouple a force-transmitting connection between the brake pedal and the brake booster in the 'brake-by-wire' operating mode. A master brake cylinder connected downstream of the brake booster, a device to detect a deceleration request of the driver, and a pedal travel simulator which interacts with the brake pedal and due to which a resetting force acting on the brake pedal can be simulated in the &#x2018;brake-by-wire&#x2019; operating mode independently of an actuation of the brake booster, and which can be enabled in the &#x2018;brake-by-wire&#x2019; operating mode when the force-transmitting connection between the brake pedal and the brake booster is decoupled and can be disabled outside the &#x2018;brake-by-wire&#x2019; operating mode. The pedal travel simulator () is enabled and disabled by electromechanical means (), electrohydraulic means () or pneumatically operable means (to).

Break actuating unit for actuating a motor vehicle brake system

Actuating unit for a motor vehicle brake system

Servo brake

A brake system of the brake-by-wire (BBW) type for a vehicle having a brake pressure signal generator which can be activated by a brake pedal and can be connected to wheel brakes outside the BBW operating mode, having a pressure source which can be actuated by an electronic control unit and can be connected to the brakes of the vehicle in the BBW operating mode, having provisions for sensing a driver's deceleration request and having a pedal travel simulator which interacts with the brake pedal. A restoring force acting on the brake pedal can be simulated in the BBW operating mode independently of the actuating of the pressure source, and having a device which can be actuated by the electronic control unit and which permits activation of the pedal travel simulator in the BBW operating mode and deactivation of the pedal travel simulator outside the BBW operating mode.

A pneumatic brake booster includes a booster housing, subdivided into at least two chambers by at least one axially movable wall to which a pneumatic differential pressure can be applied, a control valve controlling the differential pressure and being arranged in a control housing, an operable input member, connected to a valve piston, an output member which applies a boosting force to a master cylinder, as well as an accommodating element, which accommodates a rubber-elastic reaction element and the output member abutting thereon in a radial direction, with the accommodating element being axially and radially supported on the control housing and being held in an axial direction by means of a holding element.

Pneumatic brake booster

The invention relates to a master cylinder with a pressure chamber formed in a housing of the master cylinder and a reservoir bore for accommodating a pressure fluid reservoir, a valve with a closing element being provided which due to a pressure difference prevailing between the pressure chamber and the pressure fluid reservoir can be moved into an opening position or a closing position, the valve in its opening position allowing a pressure fluid flow from the pressure fluid reservoir into the pressure chamber and throttling or preventing, in its closing position, a pressure fluid flow from the pressure chamber into the pressure fluid reservoir. Means are provided which maintain the closing body in its opening position when it is acted upon by a closing pressure difference during vacuum filling of the brake system.
