A vacuum cleaner comprising a housing, in which a dust collection chamber is arranged, which may be sealed by a dust chamber cover, on which an unlocking element for a clip element is provided, which cooperates with a counter-clip element on the housing, in order to hold the dust chamber cover in a closed position. According to the invention, a vacuum cleaner with improved cover lock may be achieved, whereby the unlocking element is integrated flush in the contour of the dust chamber cover and is embodied to be operated by pressing.

A device for application in a fan configuration is configured, in particular, to be directly driven by an electric motor. In the fan configuration, a centrifugal fan wheel is mounted to rotate in unison with a drive shaft. The centrifugal fan wheel, for producing a directed airflow, is surrounded by a fan housing. A seal is disposed in an admission orifice, for largely filling in an air gap between the centrifugal fan wheel and the inner surface of the fan housing. Such a configuration improves the housing and sealing thereof for an application in a vacuum cleaner by having the sealing device be embodied as a sealing ring linked to a buffer part out of the fan housing, which part tightly surrounds the admission orifice.

A device for sucking up particles to be collected, in which at least one collecting compartment for collecting these particles is connected via an inlet opening of a partition to a suction device located inside at least one accommodating compartment. The collecting compartment is connected to the suction device in a manner that enables an airflow to be guided from the collecting compartment to the suction device. The partition contains, as an inlet opening, an air guiding funnel whose inlet surface forms a significant portion of the partition surface.

A vacuum cleaner has one or more display indicators on its housing. The indicators are supplied with light from at least one light source assigned thereto in order to optically indicate an operation condition. An electrical component actuates the at least one light source according to the operation condition. In order to create a vacuum cleaner in which the light source can be disposed elsewhere than directly below the display indicators, yet the indicators are nevertheless well illuminated, a light guiding element is disposed between the light source and the display indicators, which redirects the light that is emitted by at least one light source to the display. The assembly provides for the advantage that the distance and the structural differences between the light sources and the display indicators can be easily bridged, so that these functional components do not need to be directly adapted to one another.

A household appliance, particularly a vacuum cleaner, has a housing of rigid material and formed with at least two interconnected housing parts and a handle that is also made of a rigid material. The household appliance is rendered especially rigid and the risk of losing grip of the handle of the appliance is reduced by integrating the handle into a stiffening element that is disposed at the intersection of the housing parts and by providing the handle with a cover that is made of a softer material.

A vacuum cleaner includes a dust collection compartment inside of which a dust bag with a reinforcing plate, which has a clip connected to the underside thereof, can be placed. The clip tapers toward the bottom in the shape of a funnel or trapezoid and is suited for insertion into a correspondingly configured fixture. The fixture has lateral guide elements that guide the reinforcing plate when pushed in. The configuration enables the dust bag to be easily inserted into the dust collection compartment without the involving the difficult placement inside a guide profile.

A vacuum cleaner nozzle having a housing at which a pivoting terminal connecting piece is attached for connecting a guide suction pipe. A spoiler-shaped surface on at least one side of the nozzle housing, which protrudes over the contour of the nozzle housing and tapers to a point at its free end, eliminates the need to separately lift a loose rug to be able to clean at least the border region covered by the rug.

The attachment unit, preferably, has a base body, to which the crevice tool and/or the upholstery tool and/or the upholstery brush is/are connected.
