An exhaust gas cooler may include a plurality of stacked disc pairs. A first flow chamber for a coolant flow may be disposed between two discs of at least a first disc pair of the plurality of disc pairs. A second flow chamber for an exhaust gas flow may be disposed between two second disc pairs of the plurality of disc pairs arranged mutually adjacent with respect to one another. The plurality of stacked disc pairs may include at least one coolant inlet and at least one coolant outlet. The first disc pair may include a plurality of coolant inlets and a plurality of coolant outlets surrounding an edge of the first disc pair to facilitate peripheral edge cooling.

A collector tank for a heat exchanger of an automotive cooling system includes a one-piece tank element comprising a first collecting region and a second collecting region, wherein at least one of the first collecting region and the second collecting region comprises a projection; a base that closes off the collecting regions of the tank element, the base comprising at least one channel; a sealing element disposed within the at least one channel; and a stress generating means located adjacent to the channel and clamping at least a portion of the one-piece tank element to the base such that the sealing element is compressed between the projection and the base within the channel. The stress generating means is a means selected from the group consisting of a tensile stress generating means, a compressive stress generating means, and a combination thereof.

Collector tank for a multi-row heat exchanger

A collecting tank for a heat exchanger pertaining to a motor vehicle cooling installation includes a tank element. The tank element includes at least two collecting regions for receiving fluid, the receiving regions being embodied together as a single component and being outwardly sealed by a sealing element, and a bottom for closing the collecting regions. A sealing arrangement is provided between the tank element and the bottom, between two adjacent collecting regions. The sealing arrangement includes exactly one sealing element which, in addition to sealing between the two collecting regions, is used to seal the arrangement towards the outside. The sealing element is preferably arranged in a plane in the collecting tank, especially in a continuous channel.
