A piston fuel pump for an internal combustion engine includes: a pump cylinder; and a pump piston which is movably accommodated in the pump cylinder. The pump piston is guided radially with the aid of at least a first and at least a second guide section which are spaced axially apart from each other, the first guide section being situated in a pump cylinder of the piston fuel pump, and the second guide section being situated radially outwardly in the area of the end section facing the drive. The piston fuel pump has a supporting and sealing unit for the pump piston on the first guide section, which includes a guidance area for the radial guidance of the pump piston in the pump cylinder and a sealing area having a sealing lip.

A valve for metering a flowing, e.g. gaseous or liquid, medium, in particular a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, is described, which valve comprises a valve housing having an inflow for the medium, a valve body having a metering opening for the medium, a join present between the valve housing and valve body, and a seal sealing the join. In order to ensure a seal that is reliable and not susceptible to cracking, in which context the material of the valve housing and valve body can be selected without restriction, the seal has a clamping ring, covering the join, that sits with a press fit on end portions, facing toward one another at the join, of the valve housing and valve body.

Valve for dosing a flowing medium

A valve for metering a flowing medium, in particular a fluid, having a metering opening situated in the fluid flow and surrounded by a valve seat, a valve needle that controls the metering opening and that has a closing head that works together with the valve seat to close and release the metering opening, a piezoelectric actuator that acts on the valve needle to release the metering opening, and an elastic resetting element that acts on the valve needle to close the metering opening. To minimize the required stroke of the piezoelectric actuator for a required stroke of the closing head of the valve needle, the point of action of the resetting element on the valve needle is situated on or close to the end of the valve needle that bears the closing head.

Valve for metering in a flowing medium

A hydraulic coupling is specified, particularly for fuel injectors, which has a housing pot having a pot bottom and a lateral pot surface, a piston guided axially displaceably in the housing pot, a fluid-filled coupling gap that is provided between the piston and the pot bottom, diaphragm situated on the outer side of the housing pot facing away from the piston, a compensation chamber that is bordered by the diaphragm and flow-connected to the coupling gap, and a spring element acting upon the diaphragm with an axially directed spring force. In order to achieve a low overall stiffness of the hydraulic coupling at the required specified coupling force, the spring element is developed as a spring bracket fixed to the housing pot, which lies against the diaphragm with axial prestressing in the region of the pot bottom.

A valve for metering a fluid (liquid or gaseous medium), in particular, a fuel injector for internal combustion engines, having a valve housing, an actuator accommodated in the valve housing and acting on a valve member, an electrical connector accessible on the outside of the valve housing, and an electrical supply lead that produces an electrical connection from the connector to the actuator and has two lead strands, each having a flexible strand section. To optimize the electrical supply lead to lower production costs, simplified valve assembly and anti-twist protection for the actuator, each lead strand is made of an electrical conductor provided with a plastic sheathing and having a front and rear, in each case elongated conductor section and a middle conductor section in between that has at least one meander-shaped curvature for realizing the flexible strand section, and a plastic bridge member, in one piece with the plastic sheathings in the area of the middle conductor sections of both electrical conductors, connects the two lead strands to form a torsionally stiff supply-lead module.

A positioning device includes a positioning element that is situated movably in a first direction and a second direction, the first and the second directions being opposed to one another, and a first piezoelectric actuator and a second piezoelectric actuator, the first piezoelectric actuator moving the positioning element in the first direction and the second piezoelectric actuator moving the positioning element in the second direction.

An injector for a fluid is provided, in particular for fuel, which has a valve housing, an intake nipple for the fluid disposed at one housing end, a nozzle body disposed at the other housing end, which has a valve seat surrounding a spray-discharge orifice, and a valve chamber disposed upstream therefrom, and a fluid-carrying pipe which extends in the valve housing and connects the valve chamber to the intake nipple. To achieve a connection of the fluid-carrying pipe to the valve chamber that is impervious to high operating pressures and is suitable in terms of production and convenient in terms of assembly, an axial blind hole which has an internal thread and is disposed at a radial offset to the housing axis of the valve housing, is formed in the nozzle body, and a fluid connection us established from the blind hole to the valve chamber. At its pipe end facing away from the intake nipple, the fluid-carrying pipe is screw-fitted in the blind hole and the threaded connection is sealed with respect to the blind hole.

Injector for a fluid

A piezoelectric actuator and an injector for an internal combustion engine are proposed, the electromagnetic compatibility of which is significantly improved in comparison with conventional injectors. The actuator head and/or actuator foot is manufactured out of a ceramic material, thus reducing the capacitance of the electric capacitor that is formed between the electrical ground and the piezoelectric actuator. An advantage of the piezoelectric actuator according to the invention is that no additional components are required. The change from metallic materials to ceramic materials also increases the rigidity of the piezoelectric actuator since ceramic materials have a significantly higher modulus of elasticity than metals.

A fuel injector for fuel-injection systems of internal combustion engines includes a solenoid coil and an armature excitable by the solenoid coil, the armature being in operative connection with a valve-closure member, which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat body arranged in a valve sleeve. The valve-seat body is held in place in the valve sleeve by a clamping sleeve.

A fuel injector for fuel-injection systems of internal combustion engines includes a solenoid coil, a tubular support acting as inner pole of the solenoid coil, and a filter element, the filter element being press-fitted with an outer contour of the tubular support of the fuel injector.

Fuel injector and method for its installation

A fuel injector, in particular a fuel injector for fuel-injection systems of internal combustion engines, has a valve needle which cooperates with a valve-seat surface to form a sealing seat, and an armature which is connected to the valve needle, the armature being acted upon in the closing direction by a restoring spring and cooperating with a magnetic coil. The armature has a guide flange which is guided at an opposite surface. The guide flange does contact the opposite surface in all places, so that recesses are formed between the guide flange and the opposite surface.

The invention relates to a device for variable control of the gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine, of which at least one gas exchange valve is triggered by a cam of a camshaft, which cam has a cam contour with a circular portion of the cam bottom and a cam apex portion. For variably adjusting the cam contour, a pressure-fluid-actuated piston guided by the cam and retractable and extensible radially continuously, is provided which on its end forms at least a part of the cam apex portion.

Device for the variable control of gas exchange valves in an internal combustion engine

A fuel injector, particularly a fuel injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, has a magnetic coil, an armature acted upon in a closing direction by a resetting spring and a valve needle connected to the armature by force-locking for operating a valve-closure member, which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat surface. The armature has a pot-shaped axial extension, in which at least one cutout is formed.

A fuel injector, in particular for direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, includes a valve-closure member which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat surface which is formed on a valve-seat member, and several injection orifices, each of which is connected with at least one spiral groove so that an outer edge of the swirl grooves coincides in part with a circumferential edge of the injection orifices. The swirl grooves extend generally perpendicular to a center line of the injection orifice associated with them.
