The present invention relates to rubber mixtures with improved processing behavior and high filler activity, containing 1,4-butenediol and/or 1,4-butenediol polyether, as well as the use of the rubber mixtures for the production of vulcanizates, in particular for the production of highly reinforced, abrasion-resistant molded articles, and preferably for the production of tires that have a low rolling resistance and a high abrasion resistance.

The block copolymers according to the invention which are based on conjugated diolefins and polar monomers and are prepared in the presence of catalysts based on the rare earth metals have a high cis-1,4 content in the polydiene block and, because of their polar polymer part and their non-polar diene polymer part, can be used as agents which impart compatibility in the preparation of vulcanizates with a filler content for the production of tires and tire component in the preparation of thermoplastic elastomers or in the modification of thermoplastics.

The present invention relates to rubber mixtures containing diene rubber with a concentration of primary hydroxyl groups of 0.1 to 2 wt. % and a glass transition temperature of &minus;120&deg; to &minus;50&deg; C. and their mixtures with fillers, optionally further rubbers and rubber auxiliary substances and vulcanisates prepared therefrom. The present invention relates to rubbers based on diolefins with a particular lateral polyether group content, mixtures thereof with fillers and the use of said rubbers and mixtures for the preparation of rubber vulcanizates with improved tear propagation resistance and favorable dynamic damping. Hydrophobic, oxidic and/or siliceous fillers obtainable by treating an oxidic and/or siliceous filler with 0.1 to 50 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of filler, with an adduct of sulfur and unsaturated primary and/or secondary alcohols with 3 to 60 carbon atoms at temperatures of 20 to 250&deg; C., wherein the adduct has been obtained by reacting 1 to 10 moles of sulfur per mole of double bonds in the alcohol.
