A method for operating a portable dialysis device, comprising the following steps: continuously and alternately filling and emptying a hydraulic chamber with hydraulic fluid by a pump, wherein upon filling the hydraulic chamber, an at least partially flexible delivery membrane is moved towards a blood chamber adjoining the hydraulic chamber, in which blood is received, and wherein the blood flows tangentially along an inner wall of the blood chamber through an inlet side, whereby the blood chamber is compressed to eject the blood, and enhancing a return flow of the blood from the blood chamber while avoiding dead points in the flow in the blood chamber, and wherein upon emptying the hydraulic chamber, the delivery membrane is moved away from the blood chamber so that the blood chamber expands to receive the blood, so that a continuous, alternate compression and expansion of the blood chamber by the delivery membrane occurs, such that a continuous uninterrupted exchange of the blood in the blood chamber is performed while avoiding the formation of thrombi.

Portable dialysis device

A portable dialysis device that can be continuously worn in and/or on the body of a patient, with a blood chamber in which the patient's blood can be received, a hydraulic chamber which can be filled with a hydraulic fluid and which adjoins the blood chamber, an at least partially flexible delivery membrane which is arranged between the hydraulic chamber and the blood chamber and which, when the hydraulic chamber is filled with hydraulic fluid, is movable in the direction of the blood chamber in such a way as to cause a compression of the blood chamber and therefore an ejection of the blood located therein, a pump for controllable filling and/or emptying of the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic chamber, such that blood can in this way be conveyed into the blood chamber and/or out of the latter, a filter membrane which is arranged between the blood chamber and the hydraulic chamber and through which waste substances in the blood can be removed to the hydraulic fluid located in the hydraulic chamber, such that the hydraulic fluid serves at the same time as dialysate. Additionally, a method for operating a portable dialysis device.

The invention concerns polyurethane (PUR) having an antithrombogenic coating, wherein the antithrombogenic coating comprises at least one antithrombogenic substance covalently bound to a surface of the PUR via at least two bonds, wherein a first of said bonds is an amide bond between the surface of the PUR and a polyethyleneimine (PEI) and a second of said bonds is between the PEI and the antithrombogenic substance, wherein the surface of the PUR had been activated by use of a carbon dioxide plasma or a plasma modified by addition of carbon dioxide before the first of said bonds was formed.

A transfer assembly comprising an intracorporeal transfer coil of an implant, and an extracorporeal transfer coil of an extracorporeal supply unit. The transfer coil of the implant has permanently associated therewith a transmitting element. The transfer coil of the supply unit has permanently associated therewith at least one receiving element. Further, the supply unit comprises an evaluation module connected with the receiving element and issuing a locating signal depending on an offset and/or a direction of offset of the transmitting element relative to the receiving element.

Transfer assembly

According to one embodiment, a dialysis device is made available that can be implanted at least partially into the body of a patient and comprises a blood chamber, through which the patient's blood can flow, a dialysis chamber for receiving a dialysate, and a hydraulic pump device for compressing the two chambers alternately by means of a hydraulic fluid, wherein both chambers are each equipped with two valves for controlling the inflow and outflow of blood and dialysate, respectively, and wherein both chambers are connected to each other in an area designed as a membrane.

Dialysis device

A heart assistance device for the pulsatile delivery of blood is provided that includes a first pump chamber, a second pump chamber, and a pump. Both pump chambers each have a fluid chamber and a blood-carrying chamber. By means of the pump, each fluid chamber can be filled with a fluid or emptied thereof in such a way that an expansion or contraction of the fluid chamber takes place. During the expansion of the fluid chamber of one pump chamber, a compression of the blood-carrying chamber of the same blood chamber takes place. The pump is designed as a roller cell pump or vane pump.

Heart assistance device

A device for supplying energy to hydraulically or pneumatically actuated active implants. The device can take the form of pumping systems, metering systems, and/or occlusion systems. The device comprises a receiving coil for generating an electric voltage due to a changing magnetic flux that is generated by an extracorporeal transmitting coil. The receiving coil is designed such that said coil can be implanted into subcutaneous tissue. Furthermore, an electric line is provided for transmitting the electric current that is generated by the receiving coil from the receiving coil to the active implant. The device further comprises a compensation container for temporarily receiving a transmitter fluid, by means of which the active implant is activated. The compensating container is mounted on the receiving coil and/or on the electric line such that the compensating container together with the receiving coil and/or the electric line can be implanted into a common tissue or muscle pocket in the body of a patient.

Device for supplying energy to hydraulically or pneumatically actuated active implants

A support device for supporting a transmission coil on the body of a patient, with a receiving or securing device or a receiving space for receiving or securing the transmission coil in and/or on the support device, and further comprising a detection device for detecting a process of application, a state of application, a process of removal and/or a state of removal of the support device relative to the body of the patient. Further pertaining to a method for operating such a device.

Support device for supporting a transmission coil on the body of a patient

A heart support device for pulsatile delivery of blood comprising a first and a second ventricle and a pump. Both ventricles comprises a fluid chamber and a blood-conveying chamber, wherein each fluid chamber can be filled with a fluid or emptied by way of the pump in such a way that an expansion or contraction of the fluid chamber occurs. In an expansion of the fluid chamber of a ventricle, a compression of the blood-conveying chamber of the same ventricle takes place, wherein a rigid pressure plate is disposed between a fluid chamber and the respective blood-conveying chamber, said pressure plate being able to move in the direction of the respective blood-conveying chamber.

Heart support device

An implantable two-chamber system is for supporting the left ventricle of the heart. Each of the two pumping chambers (') of the two-chamber system is ventricular shaped including an inlet () and an outlet (). A pressure plate () is rotatably mounted externally in two arms () which are movably retained on the output shaft () of a drive unit () such that the center of motion () of the arms (), which lies on the output shaft (), is located on the side of the pumping chamber (&#x2032;) facing away from adapters (&#x2032;), and thus outside the pumping chambers (&#x2032;). Each of the ventricular pumping chambers (&#x2032;) is provided with a bulge () in order to reduce the resistance to fluid flow, this bulge () having a length ranging from 10 to 15 percent of the length of the pumping chamber.

Implantable two-chamber system for supporting the left ventricle of the heart

The disclosure relates to an artificial heart implant comprising a blood pump with a pump drive, a controller for controlling and regulating the pump drive, and an electrode that is connected to the controller and is used for detecting electrical quantities on the patient's heart. The controller controls the pump drive in accordance with the signals detected by the electrode.

Device for connecting a cardiac biventricular assist means

A fully implantable left ventricular assist system comprising a pumping means connectable via adapter elements to the ventricle includes two compressible chambers in the form of sacs () and a compressing means () to alternatingly fill and discharge the compressible chambers () at the same time, including a drive unit () assigned thereto, a cooling means () for cooling the drive unit (), and a power supply unit () for the drive unit () and cooling means (). In this implantable system the pumping means, compression means (), drive unit () and part of the cooling means () are accommodated in a two-part housing () on which tubular ports () for connecting Y-shaped adapter elements () are configured.
