A method for supporting a user of a biotechnological laboratory to execute a biotechnological experiment with a real life experiment workflow in the laboratory based on a nominal experiment workflow using a data processing system comprising data processing modules, wherein in an offline planning routine, the nominal experiment workflow is defined by an offline planning module based on user input, wherein in a noncompliance routine, based on the monitoring information, noncompliance of the real life experiment workflow with the nominal experiment workflow is detected based on noncompliance criteria by a noncompliance module and in case of detection of noncompliance, a reaction routine is activated by the noncompliance module. In the offline planning routine, for each of the nominal workflow items an allowed variability regarding the number, the type, the resource and the parameter set of the at least one nominal workflow step may be individually defined.

A weighing device having a plurality of digital weighing cells (), each including a sensor connected to a force transmission unit (), each generating a digital measurement value corresponding to a transmitted force at a measurement time point, and including a data processing device that converts the digital measurement values to transmission units configured to be transmitted over a data communications line () to a central control unit () connected to all weighing cells for analysis of the transmission units. The central control unit () calculates a digital combination value based on the transmission units originating from the various weighing cells (), the combination value representing a weight force with which the weighing device () is loaded at a weighing time point. The conversion of the measurement values to transmission units involves a pairing of each converted measurement value with a time value.

A force measuring system with at least two load cells (), which detect and convert partial forces of the force to be measured into a digital output signal, and with an electronic circuit (), which calculates a total signal from the output signals of the individual load cells according to the amount of the force to be measured and transmits this total signal to another electronic unit () for further processing or data output. The electronic circuit () is integrated into at least one load cell (), whereby the hardware requirements are minimized while detection of the measured values is clearly separated from further processing of the measured values. Advantageously the electronic circuit () can be integrated into each load cell ().

An analog/digital converter including an amplifier (,) wired as an integrator, a comparator (,) electrically downstream from the integrator, a time counter (,) which continually counts the pulses of a pulse generator (,), a bistable element (,), and additional circuitry. The bistable element (,) drives the input network of the amplifier (,) with at least one switch (,) in such a way that in one of its two positions (&ldquo;off&rdquo; condition) a current I,proportional to the analog measured value is integrated, and in the other position (&ldquo;on&rdquo; condition) a constant reference current I,with opposite polarity to the current I,is integrated in addition to current I,. The switching of the bistable element from the &ldquo;off&rdquo; condition to the &ldquo;on&rdquo; condition is controlled by the time counter, and the switching from the &ldquo;on&rdquo; condition to the &ldquo;off&rdquo; condition (switch-off time) is controlled by the output signal of the comparator, which is generally synchronized with the pulses of the pulse generator. The pulses of the pulse generator (,) are summed to a result during the time the bistable element is in its &ldquo;on&rdquo; position. The additional circuitry displaces the switch-off time of the bistable element (,) beyond the time resulting from the above synchronization by a number of pulses of the pulse generator (,) determined by an arithmetic unit (,).
