A user device, UE, for one or more wireless communication systems, includes one or more transceiver chains. The UE shares at least one transceiver chain with at least two connections to the one or more wireless communication systems. The UE is connected to one or more network entities, like a gNB or another UE, with the connections, and perform one or more operations on the connections at respective operation occasions. When the UE transmits or receives on a current one of the connections, it does not to transmit or receive on the other connections.

Enhanced multi-connection operations

In the field of wireless communication systems or networks, the design of resource pools as they may be used in sidelink communications among users of the wireless communication system, for example in V2X applications, is described. In particular, an improved resource pool design, for example for resource pools to be used in sidelink communications in V2X services in view of the advantages defined by the NR 5G standard, is presented.

NR V2X resource pool design

A user device, UE, for a wireless communication system is described. The wireless communication system has a plurality of user devices, UEs. The UE communicates with one or more further UEs using a sidelink, SL. To operate in a Discontinuous Reception, DRX, mode, the UE receives a DRX configuration from one of a plurality of DRX configuration sources. The plurality of DRX configuration sources are ranked such that each of the DRX configuration sources has a rank different from the remaining DRX configuration sources, and the UE is to select the DRX configuration from the DRX configuration source having the highest rank among the available DRX configuration sources.

NR sidelink discontinuous reception

A user device, UE, for a wireless communication system is described. The wireless communication system includes a plurality of user devices, UEs. The UE communicates with one or more transmitting UEs using a sidelink, supports a certain number of HARQ processes, and buffers one or more transmissions for each HARQ process. During a unicast communication with a transmitting UE using the sidelink, the UE receives from the transmitting UE a transmission during a transmission time interval, the transmission associated to control data, e.g. SCI, including a HARQ process ID, buffers the received transmission for the HARQ process, and combines the buffered transmissions prior to decoding. In case a successfully identified transmission is not buffered, the UE indicates to the transmitting UE that the transmission is not buffered at the UE.

V2X HARQ process management

Video data for deriving a spatially variable section of a scene therefrom as well as corresponding methods and apparatuses for creating video data for deriving a spatially variable section of a scene therefrom and for deriving a spatially variable section of a scene from video data. The video data comprises a set of source tracks comprising coded video data representing spatial portions of a video showing the scene and is formatted in a specific file format and supports the merging of different spatial portions into a joint bitstream through compressed-domain processing.

Video coding concepts are described which relate to encoding, decoding, extracting and mixing video data streams having encoded therein pictures in a manner subdivided into independently coded subpictures. The concepts relate to an extraction of subpicture specific video data streams having a layer of subdivided pictures and a layer of un-subdivided pictures, a handling of inter-layer prediction tools and a handling of scaling windows for inter-layer prediction for such video data streams, a determination of decoder capability requirements for such data streams, layer-specific constraints for such data streams, and mixing of subpictures encoded with different types of independent coding.

Subpicture-related video coding concepts

A data stream having volumetric video data encoded therein in a scene description language, the data stream representing a scene comprising one or more objects is disclosed, wherein the data stream comprises for at least one object first mesh data, second mesh data and correspondence information, wherein the first mesh data describes the at least one object with a first mesh, the second mesh data describes the at least one object with a second mesh, and wherein the correspondence information indicates a mapping between the first and second mesh. Data stream, devices and methods for volumetric video data

The entropy coding of a current part of a predetermined entropy slice is based on, not only, the respective probability estimations of the predetermined entropy slice as adapted using the previously coded part of the predetermined entropy slice, but also probability estimations as used in the entropy coding of a spatially neighboring, in entropy slice order preceding entropy slice at a neighboring part thereof. Thereby, the probability estimations used in entropy coding are adapted to the actual symbol statistics more closely, thereby lowering the coding efficiency decrease normally caused by lower-delay concepts. Temporal interrelationships are exploited additionally or alternatively.

A user equipment, UE, for a wireless communication network including one or more base stations, performs a transmission to a base station using a grant-free, GF, transmission scheme. The transmission being performed in accordance with a GF transmission configuration. The UE receives from the base station a certain signaling. It is proposed to that descriptive data of a file indicates whether a parameter set for a track of a file is forwarded when jointly decoding a sub-stream of the track and a further track, and/or that a file includes, for a sub-stream of a video stream signaled in the file, an alternative parameter set to a parameter set for fully decoding the track, the alternative parameter set being for decoding the sub-stream, so as to allow for switching between multiple tracks of a file, and/or that step-wise stream access pictures of a track of a file are marked as stream access point pictures for accessing the track, and/or that a temporal length within which a decoder refresh in case of a joint decoding of sub-streams distributed over multiple tracks is indicated in a file, and/or that a file provides information from which it is derivable whether a pixel aspect ratio varies.
