An antiperspirant composition may include an aqueous carrier; and at least 4 to 7 weight percent of an aluminum and/or aluminum-zirconium antiperspirant active containing at least a Peak 4 specie. An antiperspirant composition may also include an aqueous carrier; and an aluminum and/or aluminum-zirconium antiperspirant active containing at least a Peak 4 specie, wherein the antiperspirant active contains less than 3 area percent Peak 1 and/or Peak 2 species from an HPLC chromatograph of the antiperspirant composition.

Antiperspirant compositions

The invention relates to a cosmetic composition having a cooling effect, particularly a clear gel or a spray. The composition has a long-lasting cooling effect of about 8 hours and comprises a cooling complex consisting of 0.05-0.15% Menthyl Lactate, 0.1-0.2% Menthyl PCA and 0.05-0.2% Ethyl Menthane Carboxamide.

Cosmetic cooling composition

The present invention includes a clear cosmetic stick that has a clarity that is stable over a temperature of 5 to 45 degrees Centigrade for a time period of at least about twelve months. The clear cosmetic stick includes one or more of a branched chain fatty acid surfactant and a straight-chain fatty alcohol surfactant.

One embodiment of the invention described herein includes a method for improving stability of an antiperspirant. The method includes preparing a blend that comprises dibenzylidene sorbitol; adding an antiperspirant active to the blend, to make an antiperspirant blend; and adding one or more alkaline earth silicate salts to the antiperspirant blend in a concentration effective for stabilizing the dibenzylidene sorbitol.

Liquid stick antiperspirant

One embodiment of the invention described herein includes a method for improving stability of an antiperspirant. The method includes preparing a blend that comprises propylene glycol and dibenzylidene sorbitol; adding an antiperspirant active solid powder to the blend, to make an antiperspirant blend, in a concentration effective for making an antiperspirant that provides antiperspirant protection to a user and improves process stability of the antiperspirant; and adding an amino acid salt to the antiperspirant blend in a concentration effective for stabilizing the dibenzylidene sorbitol.

Low water emulsions are described which are useful for antiperspirants and/or deodorants wherein the emulsions are made by combining (I) 15-33% of an external phase comprising: (a) 1-25% of an organic ester having a refractive index in the range of 1.43-1.60 and capable of releasing an antiperspirant active to achieve a specified conductivity; (b) a sufficient amount of a silicone copolyol to achieve a solids content of 0.25-10%; (c) a sufficient amount of a volatile silicone to achieve a total amount of the external phase as 15-33%; (c) 0-5% of a silicone elastomer (on an actives basis); and (d) 0-15% of at least one emollient; and (II) 67-85% of an internal phase comprising: (a) an effective amount of at least one cosmetically active ingredient; (b) a sufficient amount of a solvent component to dissolve the cosmetically active ingredient with a maximum amount being about 80%; (c) 0.5-15 % of water optionally containing up to 30% of an ionizable salt soluble in water; (d) 0-5 % of a non-ionic emulsifier; and (e) 0-10% ethanol; wherein: (1) the final refractive index of the composition is in the range of 1.42-1.52; and (2) the conductance of the composition is at least 250 micro Siemens/cm/ml at a loading of at least 7% by weight level of antiperspirant active.

An invention is disclosed which comprises siloxane-based polyamides as gelling agents for cosmetic products, methods for making such agents, formulations therof and cosmetic formulations therewith. These polyamides contain siloxane groups in the main chain and act to thicken compositions containing volatile and/or non-volatile silicone fluids. Cosmetic compositions may be made by adding at least one active ingredient such as an antiperspirant.

The invention comprises a liquid composition which provides a drier feel and reduced leakage when used with certain types of applicators, especially an applicator having a porous surface, which composition is made by combining an active phase and a silicone phase. The active phase is made by combining: (a) 10-70% of a selected glycol; (b) 0.1-10% of a nonionic emulsifier having an HLB greater than 8; (c) 0.01-30% of a cosmetically active ingredient; and (d) 0-20% of ethanol and/or isopropanol. The silicone phase is made by combining: (a) from 0.1-10% of a selected emulsifier; (b) 0-30% of a non-volatile silicone; (c) 0-30% of a volatile silicone; and (d) 0-25% of an organic emollient; provided that: (a) the silicone phase contains at least 10% silicone; (b) the ratio of silicone phase to active phase is in the range of 1:1 to 1:4; and (c) the composition is processed to maintain a viscosity in the range of 2,000-200,000 centipoise ('cps').
