An apparatus for transporting a printing material sheet includes a holding crossmember for holding the printing material sheet and a traveling-wave motor for driving the holding crossmember. The traveling-wave motor has a first traveler and a second traveler for mounting the holding crossmember. The holding crossmember is mounted through a spring suspension. The spring suspension can be, for example, a flexible joint in the form of a flexible bellows.

Apparatus for transporting a printing material sheet

A transport system is configured for a machine that processes printing material. The transport system has a guide device with one or more diverters and one or more runners that travel along the guide device. An electric linear drive of the transport system has a primary part formed with winding cores and a secondary part formed by the runner. In the region of the diverter, at least one of the cores has a lower height than the cores outside the region of the diverter. This forms a cutout or depression for at least one guide segment of the guide device.

A gripper device in a sheet-processing machine includes a gripper, a gripper pad associated with the gripper and a first drive for moving the gripper out of an opened position thereof into a closed position thereof. The gripper is cooperatively engageable with the gripper pad for producing a clamping force for holding sheets being processed. A second drive is separately operable from the first drive during a production printing operation of the sheet-processing machine. The first and second drives are operable for positioning the gripper and/or the gripper pad so that clamping faces of one of the gripper and/or the gripper pad are movable by the second drive perpendicularly to clamping faces of the other of the gripper and/or the gripper pad.

A pre-gripper driving device for a pre-gripper cyclically driven oscillatingly and serving for transporting individual sheets in a sheet-processing machine, includes sheet grippers disposed at a free end of a rocking lever pivotable about a pivot pin fixed to a frame, the sheet grippers being movable relative to a gripper support about a gripper shaft aligned parallel to the pivot pin, for closing and opening the sheet grippers, and an activatable and regulatable drive for producing the movement of the grippers, the drive, on one hand, being connected to the sheet grippers and, on the other hand, being supported on one of the rocking lever and the frame; and a printing unit, a digital printing unit, a rotary printing machine and a multicolor rotary printing machine, respectively including the pre-gripper driving device.

Actuator-gripper control

An apparatus for transporting a sheet material through a sheet-processing machine is described. The transport system for the sheet material has a drive that is driven independently of the cylinders on the stations processing the sheet material in the sheet-processing machine. The transport system provides at least synchronization of a transport device conveying the sheet material and of the cylinders.
