The present invention is directed to compositions for electroless plating baths and their use, and more particularly to different solutions or concentrates each usable to both make up an original bath and to replenishment of the original bath.

Plating bath solutions

The present invention is directed to compositions, baths, and methods for composite plating including polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and more particularly, to compositions, baths, and methods of composite plating with PTFE in a metal or alloy matrix where the materials used in the process contain no or essentially no PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) and/or no PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid).

Composite PTFE plating

This invention is directed to a process for electrolessly metallizing an article, as well as to a plating bath and the subsequent plated substrate. The process comprises contacting the surface of an article with an electroless metallizing bath which may be essentially free of toxic and/or heavy metals.

Composite electroless plating

The present invention relates to composite electroless coatings with varying densities of codeposited particles in the plated layer along the surface of the substrate where said variation of densities is directed by the angle of rotation of the substrate during the coating process.

Selective codeposition of particulate matter and plated articles thereof

A process for the electroless deposition of metals and alloys onto a substrate by immersion of the substrate into an electroless plating composition. Said electroless plating composition comprises a solvent, a metallic compound, an electroless reducing agent, a complexing agent and/or chelating agent, and a compound comprising cobaltic ions. The presence of the cobaltic ions assists in the stabilization of this composition of matter.

Cobalt as a stabilizer in electroless plating formulations

A method for the electroless coating of ferromagnetic substrates substantially free of microspheres or other unwanted auxillary matter, thereby reducing the roughness of the coated articles. The method and articles produced are subjected to a magnetic field and demagnetized prior to the plating step. The method is of particular utility in the coating of textile machinery parts operating at high rotational speed in the minimizing of dust and yarn damage. The method is also of great utility in the deposition of composite electroless coatings.
