A method for operating a lamp may include: Connecting a device to a pair of input connections of an electronic ballast and by this means determining a respective dimming duration for at least one predetermined situation; and Activating the lamp by the electronic ballast in at least one predetermined situation such that the lamp emits light with a reduced intensity compared with the normal intensity at which the lamp otherwise emits light over a period of a dimming duration determined for this situation.

Method for operating a lamp and electronic ballast

An apparatus for controlling at least one electrical load may include at least one pushbutton; a communications interface for communicating with the loads, the loads being switched on and off by the at least one pushbutton via the communications interface; and a first controlled switch with control logic, said switch being connected between the loads and a power supply, and the first controlled switch isolates the power supply from the loads as soon as all of the loads have been disconnected via the communications interface.

Apparatus and method for controlling electrical loads

Disclosed is a circuit arrangement for supplying a lamp wattage to a high-pressure discharge lamp (Lp) in the form of an alternating current having an operating frequency. The alternating current is generated by a full bridge that is composed of two half-bridge branches. The lamp wattage can be adjusted via the phase which the two half-bridge branches have relative to each other. The lamp wattage is modulated by means of the transmission function of an interface if the operating frequency is frequency-modulated. Said modulation of the lamp wattage can be compensated by adequately correcting the phase.

A circuit arrangement for operating at least one high-pressure discharge lamp having four switches in a full bridge arrangement, a first and a second switch forming the first half-bridge arm, and a third and a fourth switch forming the second half-bridge arm, at least two terminals for coupling the high pressure discharge lamp between the midpoint of the half-bridge arms, at least one terminal for supplying the circuit arrangement with a DC voltage signal, and a drive circuit for driving the four switches, the drive circuit being designed to provide a first drive signal for the switches of the arm and a second drive signal for those of the second arm in such that the drive signals are derived from a base signal whose clock pulse is swept between a first and a second frequency.
