The invention relates to a column for carrying out thermal separations and/or chemical reactions, including a vertical cylindrical column outer wall that surrounds an inner chamber divided by at least one vertical separating wall into chambers, wherein the separating wall has at least two vertical separating wall elements that are arranged one above the other in the same plane, adjoin one another edge to edge, and are interconnected by at least one screw connection.

Column with at least one partition

The invention relates to a mass transfer tray of a column with a liquid feed on the tray feed side and a liquid discharge on the opposite tray discharge side, and with multiple profile-shaped channels of a U-shaped cross section that are arranged in the tray between the feed and the discharge, parallel to one another and transversely in relation to the direction of liquid flow, and form between them gas passage slits which are covered over by elongated profile-shaped hoods, which have an inverted U-shaped cross section, wherein the side walls of the channels reach into the hoods, and so the channel side walls are covered over by the hood side walls by a height that is less than the height of the channel side walls and the height of the hood side walls, wherein the liquid flows alternately in opposite directions in the channels, and so in every second channel the liquid flows in one direction and in the channels lying in between the liquid flows in the opposite direction, and wherein the hoods are set higher than the channels in the case of the channels and hoods that are closer to the tray feed side, and consequently the heights over which they cover one another are less than in the case of the channels and hoods that are closer to the tray discharge side.

Mass transfer tray

A stacked packing column for heat and/or mass transfer has individual horizontal layers including a lower layer that has a greater density that initiates an accumulation, in particular flooding, and that is 1.5 to 10, preferably 2 to 3 times, greater than the density of an overlying upper layer. The upper layer forms oblique flow channels having lower sections that are more vertically aligned than respective upper sections. The lower sections of the flow channels have a larger cross section than the upper sections, and the sections of larger cross section open into the lower layer.

Packing arranged for an exchange of heat and/or material

A stacked packing for a heat-exchange or mass-transfer column has a horizontal upper packing part and a horizontal lower packing part below the upper part. This lower part is formed of a plurality of upright layers, some of which are of substantially greater density and have a greater surface area than others.

A partition for a packed column or a tray column which can carry out separation and/or chemical reactions has at least two partition elements disposed one above another and/or one alongside the other in the same plane, at least one plug and/or clamp connector connecting together the partition elements, and a sealing profile between an inner surface of the column and an edge of the partition elements turned toward the column inner surface. A fastening device is provided for the partition on the column inner surface. Lateral fastening parts of the partition carry inserts of the column and/or column trays. These fastening parts are rectangular profiles having upper sides extending horizontally in the column.

Partition assembly for packed or tray column

A liquid distributor for packed or filled columns having a multiplicity of horizontal layers involved in heat transfer or mass transfer. At least one layer of the column has an increased density by comparison with the other layers and is designed specifically for flooding. The specific surface can be greater than the specific surface of the underlying layers by a factor of 1.5 to 10.

Liquid distributor and method for operating the same

A heat exchange or mass transfer column in which the packing bed is formed from individual packing layers wherein the sheet metal plates of the packing have different thicknesses.

Heat exchange and mass transfer packing and packed column utilizing same

The invention relates to a packing for heat- and material-exchange columns, with a number of approximately perpendicularly arranged corrugated plates (or strips), with the side surfaces thereof lying adjacent to each other. The ribs of the above lie very close to each other and run from top to bottom, in the approximate form of an arc, whereby the ribs of two adjacent plates cross each other and the ribs in the upper region of a plate are straight and inclined to the upper, in particular, horizontal place are straight and inclined to the upper, in particular, horizontal plate edge and, in the lower region of the plate, run bent in the form of an arc.

Packing for heat- and material-exchange columns

Partitions for columns for the separation of components or chemical reactions are assembled from plates or wall elements provided with plug and clamp connectors along respective edges and formed by strips so that the partitions can be easily and safely assembled and disassembled.

A column for performing thermal separations includes a vertical cylindrical outer column wall defining an inner volume which is subdivided by a separating wall into two halves filled with mass exchange packs, each of the mass packs has horizontal strip-like two rim guards, a lower guard is interrupted in the area of opposite corners of the respective mass exchange pack and an upper rim guard is a continuous flexible fabric strip.

A liquid distributor tray in heat exchange equipment, mass exchange equipment or reactors having roughly horizontal liquid distributor channels disposed in the tray, which channels, via openings, deliver the liquid downwards to fingers from which the liquid flows off and/or drips off. Below the channel base one pot or a plurality of pots are located which receive the liquid leaving the channel. The fingers, which are bent outwards, are attached or formed on at the lower edge of the pot wall. Openings are located above the fingers in the pot wall through which the liquid passes outwardly and flows down the outer wall of the pot to the fingers.
