The invention relates to a system and a method for integrated development of projects of different levels, especially of automation projects in the MES and Controls area. The integrated development is facilitated by the use of uniform models. In this case a first project planning solution, especially an automation solution at the control level, is created in a first project planning environment (), a second project planning solution, especially a solution for coordination of processes and/or execution sequences of the first project planning solution, is created in at least a second project planning environment () with a common data and/or object model being used by the project planning environments at least for the creation of the project planning solutions of the project planning environments and data and/or objects being identified in one of the two project planning solutions for use in the other project planning solution in each case.

Integration of MES and controls engineering

A method for at least one of planning and configuring a project, which represents an automation device () for controlling a technical installation. The project data required for the at least one of planning and configuring the automation device () can be stored in an engineering system (). The at least one of planning and configuring of the project is simplified by subdividing the project into a number of partial projects (Tp, . . . ). The partial projects (Tp, . . . ) are at least one of planned and configured on different programming units (, . . . ) that are interconnected. Data records (, . . . ) are centrally stored that indicate which partial projects (Tp, . . . ) are actively connected to which programming units (, . . . ). These data records (, . . . ) can be read out by the programming units (, . . . ).
