An apparatus detects defects in an object during three-dimensional printing of the object. The apparatus uses a terahertz sensor to generate data corresponding to the thickness of an object being formed at a plurality of locations on the surface of a layer of the object. These thickness data are compared to thickness data for locations of the corresponding layer from a previous build of the object. If a difference in thickness exceeds a predetermined threshold, a defect is detected.

Methods and raster output scanner (ROS) systems are presented in which beam delay values are set for an array of ROS light sources based on wiper error and jitter error with column alignment achieved at an alignment location spaced from a center of scan (COS) location toward an end of scan location (EOS) along a fast scan range of operation of the ROS.

In a color marking assembly, a series of ROS units are aligned above a photoconductive surface. These units have inboard and outboard mounts connecting them to this assembly. The inboard mounts are attached to a first side of the ROS, and the outboard mounts are attached to a second side of the ROS unit. The inboard mount is an elongated bar extending beyond the height of the ROS unit. This elongated bar has hinged portions on both its top and bottom connections to the ROS unit. The outboard mount has a ball bearing or sphere configuration. This configuration and the inboard mount enable the ROS unit to be easily deskewed when required.

Method and device for eliminating toner leakage from a toner cartridge

An apparatus which transfers a developed image from a photoconductive surface to a copy sheet. The apparatus includes a corona generating member arranged to charge the copy sheet. This establishes a transfer field that is effective to attract the developed image from the photoconductive surface of the copy sheet. A rotatable helical element surrounds the corona generating member and is positional to contact the copy sheet and press it into contact with at least the developed image on the photoconductive surface to eliminate transfer deletions that are caused by non-contact between the photoconductive surface and a copy sheet during the transfer step.
