A shelf support includes: a generally planar main body with front and rear faces, the main body further having upper and lower openings with a cross-beam therebetween; a support flange extending generally perpendicularly from the front face; a mounting dowel extending generally perpendicularly from the rear face; a capturing finger mounted at an upper edge of the upper opening, the capturing finger extending forwardly and downwardly at a first oblique angle to the front face; and a centering finger extending forwardly and downwardly from the cross-beam at a second oblique angle to the front face.

Cabinet corner brace

A device for protecting first and second con fronting furniture components includes a base member having opposite first and second faces. The first face is adapted to contact the first furniture component, and the base member has a cushioning projection that extends outwardly from the second face of the base member and covers a void within the base member. The projection is adapted to contact the second furniture component as it confronts the first furniture component.

A device for protecting first and second confronting furniture components includes a base member having opposite first and second faces. The first face is adapted to contact the first furniture component, and the base member has a cushioning projection that extends outwardly from the second face of the base member and covers a void within the base member. The projection is adapted to contact the second furniture component as it confronts the first furniture component.

Shelf supports are provided that comprise a body member, a finger, a shelf flange, a stem holder and a metal stem. The body member may include a lower body portion and an upper body portion, where the upper body portion may have an inner opening formed therein. The shelf flange may extend from a front face of the lower body portion, and the finger may extend downwardly from adjacent the top of the opening towards the shelf flange. Typically, the finger is dimensioned to be collapsibly received within the inner opening. The stem holder may include a cavity for receiving at least part of the stem, and at least part of the stem extends from a back face of the body member so that it may be received within an aperture on the wall to which the shelf support is to be mounted.

Reinforced locking shelf support

Connectors that may be used to join two objects together comprise a body portion having a first surface for engaging a first object and an extending member that protrudes from the body portion that is configured to fit within an aperture on a second object. In these embodiments of the invention, the first surface and the extending member are inclined relative to each other. A fastener is also provided that may be used to connect the body portion to the first object. By placing the extending member in the aperture on the second object, and by using the fastener to join the connector to the first object, the connector acts to connect the first and second objects together. The distal end of the extending member may be rotated in a direction towards the first object to provide a tighter join.

Connection device having an angled extending member

A furniture clip includes a mounting member, two clip arms, and a securing member that extends in a direction generally perpendicular to that of the first clip arm and that is adapted to secure the clip to the fixed frame of a cabinet or set of drawers. The clip arms are each attached at one end to the mounting member and are designed to contact opposing surfaces of a movable member such as a door or drawer. The second clip arm will exert a force onto a movable member that is enough to secure the movable member against the first clip arm. The clip arms extend in a direction generally parallel to one another, thereby forming a gap between them. The gap has a portion that tapers from wide to narrow with increasing distance from the ends of the clip arms that are attached to the mounting member, and towards the free ends of the clip arms, the gap may also taper out again from narrow to wide to facilitate attachment and removal of the clip from a movable member. The clip may also include a shoulder on the mounting member on first clip arm that facilitates positioning the clip on a movable member so that the securing member will engage the fixed frame properly when the movable member is closed. The furniture clip provides an inexpensive and simple device that can be quickly and easily installed on cabinet doors or drawers and effectively restrains them in a closed position during shipment.

A shelf support for locking a shelf edge portion in place when a shelf is positioned between opposing wall members in a cabinet or the like comprises a body member having a lower body portion, a middle body portion, and an upper body portion. The lower body portion has a front face and a back face. A shelf flange is connected to the lower body portion front face, and a stem is connected to the lower body portion back face. The middle body portion is connected to the lower body portion at a first resilient junction, with the middle body portion extending at an obtuse angle away from the lower body portion. The upper body portion is connected to the middle body portion at a second resilient junction, with the upper body portion having an inner opening formed therein, with the inner opening extending downward towards the middle body portion. The upper body portion also has a top edge portion formed thereon, with a substantially flat finger connected to the top edge portion at a third resilient junction, the finger extending downward toward the middle body portion. The finger is in a position projecting away from the upper body portion. The finger has a lower shelf retaining edge and the finger is dimensioned to be collapsibly received within the inner opening. The middle body portion and the upper body portion together form an obtuse angle at the second resilient junction and tend to flatten and increase that angle as a shelf edge portion is moved over the upper body portion towards the flange. In contrast, the finger and the upper body portion together forming an acute angle at the third resilient junction and tend to flatten and decrease that angle as a shelf edge portion is moved over the upper body portion towards the flange. As a result, when a shelf edge portion is moved over the upper body portion and contacts the flange, the finger returns to the aforesaid position projecting away from said upper body portion, the retaining edge engages the shelf end portion, and the shelf is locked in place between the retaining edge and the flange.

A corner protector useful for shielding the corner of a cabinet from damage during shipping, storage, handling or the like, comprises a top member having an outer portion, an inner portion, and a generally flat planar bottom portion. A first pair of arm members is connected to the top member outer portion and projects downward therefrom, with the first pair of arm members being positioned substantially perpendicularly to one another, each of the first arm members having a generally flat planar bottom edge portion oriented substantially parallel with one another and substantially parallel with the top member bottom portion. A second pair of arm members is connected to the top member inner portion and projects downward therefrom, with each member of the second pair of arm members facing a corresponding member of first pair of arm members, each of the second pair of arm members having a generally flat planar bottom edge portion oriented substantially parallel with one another and substantially parallel with the top member bottom portion. The second arm member bottom portions are spaced downward from the first arm member bottom portions so that the corner protector can be easily installed by hand on a cabinet corner to shield the corner from damage.

A shelf support for locking a shelf edge portion in place when a shelf is positioned between opposing wall members in a cabinet or the like comprises a body member having a lower body portion, a middle body portion, and an upper body portion. The lower body portion has a front face and a back face. A shelf flange is connected to the lower body portion front face, and a stem is connected to the lower body portion back face. The middle body portion is connected to the lower body portion at a first resilient junction, with the middle body portion extending at an obtuse angle away from the lower body portion. The upper body portion is connected to the middle body portion at a second resilient junction, with the upper body portion having an inner opening formed therein, with the inner opening extending downward towards the middle body portion. The upper body portion also has a top edge portion formed thereon, with a substantially flat finger connected to the top edge portion at a third resilient junction, the finger extending downward toward the middle body portion. The finger is in a position projecting away from the upper body portion. The finger has a lower shelf retaining edge and the finger is dimensioned to be collapsibly received within the inner opening.

An electrical junction box is formed of two identical, oppositely facing, and reversed members. Each member comprises a base, a plurality of peripheral walls extending from the base which are joined at adjacent ends thereof to form an open interior in the member. The walls of each member extend towards and engage the walls of the other member. Two of the plurality of walls of each member are oppositely disposed with one of the two walls having a projection extending in the direction of the other member and the other of the two walls having a recess disposed for receipt of the projection from the one wall of the other member in positioning the members together with facing interiors forming a closed junction box interior. At least one of the walls, and preferably a wall different from the walls bearing the projection or recess, may have a first aperture for use in mounting the box to a surface, the at least one aperture being located substantially away from the ends of the at least one wall and aligned with a corresponding aperture in a wall of the other member. The base may have a second aperture interiorly of the walls for receiving electrical wiring therethrough into the interior. A device for attaching the members together is also disclosed.

Electrical junction box

A corner brace which can support an inner cabinet shelf during shipping of the cabinet, and serves to secure a cabinet top in place, is disclosed. The brace is comprised of an angle member having a pair of arm members oriented substantially perpendicularly to one another. The arm members have a flat planar top edge portion oriented substantially parallel with one another. A shelf member interconnects each of the arm member front portions at a position spaced beneath the arm member top edge portions, the shelf member having a bottom portion and a flat planar top portion oriented parallel with the arm member top edge portions. The shelf member has an outer edge portion interconnecting the arm members, and also has an opening formed therein between the top portion and the bottom portion. An elongate reinforcing rib member is connected to the shelf member bottom portion adjacent the outer edge portion, the rib member interconnecting and extending continuously between the arm members. A reinforcing boss member is formed on the shelf member bottom portion around the opening to further rigidify the brace.

A support bracket for attaching a shelf to walls includes a substantially planar body having upper and lower body portions. The upper body portion includes a pair of substantially parallel lateral edges extending upward from the lower body portion and coplanar therewith. A support projects forward from the lower body portion for supporting the edge of a shelf. A flexural plate is attached to each parallel, lateral edge and has an inner edge and a lower shelf engaging edge. Each extends forwardly and inwardly from the lateral edge toward a medial portion of the upper body portion to form a gap between the inner edges of the plates. A flexible sheet hinge is attached to the flexural plates and extending along the inner and upper edges of the plates. The inner edges of the shelves move toward each other and the plates flatten into a more coplanar configuration with the body member and the flexural plates return to their original orientation as the upper edge of the shelf passed the lower shelf engaging edges.
