A system for supporting an auxiliary power unit in an aircraft tailcone wherein the auxiliary power unit is supported by a focalized suspension system supporting the power unit, the focalized suspension system having a plurality of support means each having a line of action, the lines of action intersecting at the focal point. The support system simplifies removal and installation of the auxiliary power unit from and into the aircraft's tailcone.

Mounting assembly for an aircraft auxiliary power unit and method

An isolator (26) and assembly method therefor. The isolator (26) is particularly useful for aircraft thrust reverser doors, and the like, and includes an outer member (28), and a isolator component (29). The outer member (28) has a central axis (A--A), a generally non-planar inner peripheral surface (32), and first and second axially extending slotted entryways (48, 48'). The isolator component (29) preferably includes a component axis (B--B), an inner member (30) having an external radial peripheral surface (33), and an elastomer or metal mesh member (40) surrounding said external radial peripheral surface (33). The isolator component (29) is assembled and retained within said outer member (28) by insertion endwise through said first and second slotted entryways (48, 48'), and rotating 90.degree. such that the component axis (B--B) is substantially aligned with the central axis (A--A).

Readily changeable isolator and method of assembly thereof

An elastomeric bearing for use at elevated temperatures. The elastomeric bearing is particularly suited for use as an aircraft engine mount to isolate the aircraft cabin from engine noises. The bearing assembly incorporates fulcrums at selected locations to provide clearances which accommodate thermal expansion and contraction of the elastomeric layers.

A vibration isolating mount for connecting spaced structures and limiting noise transmission between the connected structures, such as between an aircraft and a turbine engine. The isolator comprises a pair of arms which are interconnected at one location by a torque tube pivotally connected to the aircraft structure and which are interconnected at another location by a tie brace which is also connected to the aircraft structure by a vibration isolator pad. The engine is connected to the arms by a hanger. The mount accepts various engine leads and reactions while minimizing the transmission of engine noise into the cabin of the aircraft.

Engine mounting assembly

The invention relates to improvements in trailer alignment and hook-up systems which are used with conventional hitching and hitch elements. The system comprises a fork-like sighting member attached to the towing vehicle and a flexible sighting pole assembly attached to the trailer hitch. The vehicles are properly aligned when the hitching element bumps the base or tail of the sighting pole causing it to vibrate while being viewed within the fork-like sighting member.
