A non thermal plasma reactor for treating gases. The reactor has a tubelike housing, which contains four concentric channels. A central channel is a gas inlet channel. Two inner channels are a non thermal plasma reactor channel and a catalytic channel. The outer channel is a gas outlet channel.

Packed-bed radial-flow non-thermal plasma reactor

A burner-based system for producing exhaust that simulates the exhaust produced by a production type internal combustion engine. The system is computer controlled so that parameters such as the composition of the exhaust, its rate of flow, and its temperature can be specified. This permits various engine operating conditions to be simulated. An emissions control device can be installed to receive the exhaust, and to thereby undergo rigorous testing. Various tests for durability can be performed.

Component evaluations using non-engine based test system

A synthetic gas generator and gas reactor test system. The system is configurable to provide a number of alternative flow paths, each with different furnace and reactor configurations. Various types of reactors, and combinations of two or three reactors, may be installed and tested. Injected agents, such as reducing agents, are injected in a manner that prevents unwanted reactions with the test gas. The system is especially useful for testing vehicle emissions aftertreatment devices.
