Disclosed is a process for preparing toner particles which comprises: (a) selecting a carbon black; (b) measuring the surface level of sulfur of the carbon black by X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy to ensure that the surface level of sulfur is no more than about 0.05 atomic percent; and (c) mixing the carbon black with a resin to generate a toner composition.

Method for preparing toner containing carbon black pigment with low surface sulfur levels

Disclosed herein are emulsion aggregation toner particles having less than about 15 atomic percent oxygen in relation to a total atomic percent of 100 for all elements on the surface thereof. Such toner particles exhibit lower marks on print defects.

Toner compositions

An electrically conductive latex/antioxidant coating for a corona charging device that is capable of absorbing effluents created during the electrostatographic or xerographic process, a method for making the coating, and applying the coating are described herein.

Charge device coatings

A plasma sprayed TiOcoating is used to remove effluents produced during an electrical charging step using a corona charging device. The plasma spray allows for the application of TiOceramic to an aluminum dicorotron housing. Plasma spray also increases the electrical conductivity of the TiO(which is necessary for the dicorotron operation). Plasma sprayed coatings are also porous which aids in the capture and reduction of effluents.

A fuser member includes a substrate and an outer layer comprising a polymeric material, wherein the polymeric material is post-halogenated to provide a post-halogenated polymeric material. The fuser member is advantageously used without a release oil applied to the outer layer.
