The present invention relates to a system and method that provide emergency instructions to an individual. The emergency notification system includes a plurality of badges where each badge is adapted to be joined with an individual. The emergency notification system further includes a device that locates each badge and sends information to each badge during an emergency. The information includes emergency response instructions that are based on the location of each badge and the type of emergency. The present invention also relates to a method that includes providing individuals which are within a facility with a badge. The method further includes determining emergency response instructions when an emergency arises within the facility based on the location of each badge and the type of emergency, and then communicating the emergency response instructions to the badges to direct individuals wearing badges to an appropriate location.

An absorbent composition comprising an uncrosslinked, high molecular weight polymer, wherein the uncrosslinked, high molecular weight polymer is treated by a means to effectively insolubilize the uncrosslinked, relatively high molecular weight polymer such that the absorbent composition exhibits desirable absorbent properties. In particular, the absorbent composition has the ability to absorb a large quantity of liquid. The absorbent composition is useful in disposable absorbent products, such as those disposable absorbent products that are used to absorb bodily liquids. Suitable polymers include polyethylene oxide, poly(acrylic acid), poly(vinyl alcohol), and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) wherein the polymer has a weight average molecular weight that is greater than about 1,000,000.

Absorbent composition including an uncrosslinked polymer

An absorbent article is provided having a liquid-permeable cover, a liquid--impermeable baffle and an absorbent with longitudinal side portions positioned intermediate thereof. The cover and/or baffle can extend beyond the longitudinal side portions to form longitudinal side edges of the absorbent article. The absorbent article further includes integral side barriers formed by gathering the longitudinal side edges inward toward the absorbent. In a preferred embodiment, the integral, longitudinal side barriers have a tensioning member for imparting a curved configuration to the absorbent article.

The feminine guard comprises an outer shell which defines a basin having a volume, an absorbent structure present in said basin, an acquisition layer comprising hydrophilic fibers and present in said basin, and a body side liner having a passage volume of 40 percent and being attached to the outer shell and covering the basin.
