The present disclosure is directed to overhead door assemblies and operating systems. Disclosed herein is a drive drum that is compatible across a variety of overhead door types, including, for example, standard lift doors, vertical lift doors, and high lift doors. The drive drum of the present disclosure comprises a first cable groove section and a second cable groove section, opposite the first cable groove section, wherein at least one of the first cable groove section or the second cable groove section is in a non-linear graduated arrangement.

A tool for use in installation, adjustment and removal of an energy storage device for a counterbalance system. The tool includes a member rotatable to manipulate a spring carriage. One embodiment includes a threaded shaft, an engagement member which engages the slidable carriage, a locking nut disposed on the threaded shaft, and a bearing member disposed to the threaded shaft between the locking nut and the engagement member. A position of the slidable carriage between compressed and extended positions relative the track housing is adjustable by rotation of the threaded shaft. Another embodiment includes a frame, a cable spool rotatably attached to the frame, and having a gear attached in a co-axial arrangement to the cable spool, and a worm gear attached to the frame. The spool gear is rotatable by the worm gear to apply axial force to the slidable carriage by winding the counterbalance cable.

A breakaway banner support assembly for mounting to a vertical support structure having at least one mounting member connected to a support structure, a support rod extending along a generally horizontal plane for supporting a flexible banner, and a breakaway and return hinge interconnecting the support rod and said mounting member, said rod being pivotally movable along said generally horizontal plane between a display position and a breakaway position, said rod pivoting to a breakaway position in response to a force acting thereon so as to deflect said force and pivotally returning to said display position when said force dissipates.

A pressure transducer and method for measuring pressure of a fluid flow in a tube include use of a sensing tube through which the pressurized flow passes. The sensing tube deforms outward in response to the pressurized flow within. Deformation measuring devices, such as strain gages, measure the outward deformation and allow computation of the pressure of the flowing fluid. A housing surrounds the sensing tube to relieve stresses on the sensing tube, to prevent damage to the sensing tube, and to contain any rupture of the sensing tube. The sensing tube may have a round, rectangular, or other shape cross-section. The pressure transducer allows continuous and non-invasive measurement of pressure inside a tube. In addition, a flow restriction such as an orifice may be provided in the sensing tube to enable a flow rate to be determined from the pressure drop across the flow restriction. Further, measuring device for measuring flow rate may utilize a sensing tube that bent (strained) because of forces causes by a change of momentum of flowing fluid due to a direction change of the fluid.

Fluid measuring device and method

An acceleration measurement system for measuring acceleration of a target object includes an accelerometer mount that includes at least one mass, at least one elastic member, and at least one damping material. A method of measuring acceleration of a target object includes selecting the at least one elastic member and the damping material provide a more accurate transmission from the target object to an accelerometer that is connected to the accelerometer mount.

Acceleration measurement system and method

A high strength, high frequency acceleration transducer is used for measuring the acceleration of an impacted machine or structure. The acceleration transducer includes a diaphragm, the diaphragm including one or more strain gages for producing an output signal indicative of the transducer flexure. The diaphragm is securely clamped or held over part of its surface, and is free to deflect over other parts, for example, the remainder of its surface&mdash;the diaphragm can be clamped or held along its circumference with its middle free to flex, or alternatively the diaphragm can be clamped or held along its center with the outside portion of the diaphragm free to flex. The diaphragm preferably includes one or more holes positioned relative to the strain gages to concentrate the strains locally within the diaphragm towards the strain gages. Due to the small size, profile, shape, and configuration, the acceleration transducer is able to withstand high impact forces and reliably to measure acceleration without being damaged and while avoiding resonance or the like which would degrade the output signal from the strain gages.

Acceleration transducer and method

First and second electrical wires (10), (12) are wrapped helically around a polyprolene core (22). Along a single helical portion (A), a sheath (24) is placed over the spiral wound wires and core. In an open double helix portion (B), the core with spiral wound wires is wrapped into an open helix. At an electrical stimulation portion (C), insulation is removed from the wires such that bare conductors (14), (16) are wrapped spirally around the core. The core with the spiral wrapped conductors is wrapped in an open helix. A plurality of barbs (32) are mechanically connected along the entire length of the exposed electrical conductor surface. The core extends beyond the end of the electrical conductor surface to facilitate insertion into a selected site with a cannula (64).

Double helix functional stimulation electrode

An ingot mold provided with means affording stress relief thereto for the ingot pouring operation, while maintaining the mold in condition to aid in preventing metal leakage therefrom during the ingot pouring operation and subsequent cooling of the ingot, and providing mold wall support for the ingot until its skin has sufficient structural integrity to support the molten interior of the ingot, and a mold which can be recycled for use in a faster manner as compared to heretofore utilized solid or one-piece type ingot molds. In certain embodiments, the mold is formed of a plurality of completely separate and individual side wall sections defining at least the side periphery of a mold cavity, together with coupling means connecting the wall sections together. The coupling means provide for expansion and contraction of the mold sections relative to one another during the pouring of molten metal into the mold, and the resultant heating and subsequent cooling thereof. At least certain of such coupling means comprises adjustable spring means able to be preloaded a predetermined extent prior to the pouring operation, and thus providing for predetermined preloading of the openable and closeable junctures between the mold sections. In other embodiments, the mold may be of a generally one-piece affair, but having said wall sections with junctures openable and closeable, together with the aforementioned coupling means, including preloadable spring means, for automatic compensation for expansion and contraction of the mold during the pouring and ingot producing cycles thereof in a manner to provide stress relief to the mold. A novel method for production of metal ingots is also disclosed.

Ingot mold and method

A method and apparatus for bending beams by which a beam is subjected to pure moment bending in a critically oriented plane to avoid twist and to maintain single plane bending in a beam of arbitrary cross section. As disclosed, a pair of bending heads laterally engage a beam at longitudinally spaced points. Force actuator means connected directly between the heads is energized to rotate one of the heads relative to the other to produce a bending moment in a work area in the beam between the heads. The actuator means is arranged to produce a force couple on the heads which avoids transverse loading of the beam and resultant twist and which is adapted to selectively orient the plane of the applied couple relative to the desired bending plane to maintain single plane bending in beams of nonsymmetric cross section.
