A valve for a dispenser pump is carried on a circular post or tube of a pump body. A protruding, sealing flange is formed at one end, while the opposing end includes tapering ribs extend along the inner surface of the hollow, tubular valve. In function, the ribs facilitate the passage of make-up air between the inner surface and the post/tube.

Valve and gasket tolerant to pressure-differentials

A pump dispenser has a pump body and a reciprocable plunger with a lock-down mechanism, including internal or external lock formations of the plunger and body, such as thread formations, by which the plunger can be locked down for shipping and released subsequently by a rotational release movement. To supplement security for demanding shipping conditions the dispenser also has a supplementary catch mechanism in which respective catch formations of the plunger and body engage selectively in the locked-down position to inhibit the rotational release movement. The catch formations may have circumferentially-directed surfaces which engage between the underside of a plunger head having a shroud and a nozzle and the top of the body beneath the plunger head. They can be released by resilient deformation of one or more of the catch formations.

Pump dispensers

A child-resistant closure having inner and outer caps cooperating as a nested shell is contemplated. Downward force applied to the closure engages a series of cooperating lugs and detents to engage the child resistant feature, while thinned walls and cooperating, ramped skirts on the shells' interfacing surfaces to improve the hoop strength along a predefined circumference to avoid stripping/disengagement of the threads on the closure and container neck. An optional tamper evident ring may also be provided, as well as a combustion resistant vent formed in the top panel of the inner shell.

An easy-to-disassemble pump with a replaceable, ergonomic shroud is contemplated. The pump components snap-fit and allow the user to easy access and clean its interior. Further, the internal components ensure sufficient suction is provided to minimize or avoid entrapment of fluid on exposed portions of the pump.

Washable, modular pump

A resealable, tamper-evident, low cost plug for an edible oil (or other foodstuffs) container is contemplated. The plug includes a single-piece, hinged construction with the base panel having a removable diaphragm revealing an opening that is sealed by structure provided on the hinged panel. Smooth pouring features may also be incorporated within and/or beneath the opening.

A dispenser for dispensing a flowable product from a container has a pump module mounted on the container at an opening thereof. The pump module includes a pump body, which defines a pump chamber and a pump chamber inlet for product to flow from the container interior into the pump chamber. A pump actuator is operable in a pumping stroke relative to the pump body to vary the volume of the pump chamber and dispense the product. The pump includes a movable body portion which is operable in a displacement stroke into the container. The movable portion has a displacement body with a product-engaging face directed onto an interior product space of the container upstream of the pump chamber inlet, to assist priming. Below this a disrupter member, a grid of narrow bars, projects to penetrate the product.

A system for closing a container is contemplated. The system features an injection molded, polymeric funnel including an engagement flange and a connector piece attaching to a gripping ring. A closure body capable of sealing a container is also provided. The closure includes a pull tab to create an opening into which the funnel inlet may be received in a snap-fitting arrangement. The engagement flange and protrusions proximate to the end of the funnel inlet facilitate the snap fit, align the structure, and prevent over-insertion of the funnel into the interior volume of the container.

A closing ring for a container and lid combination for securing the lid to the container includes a ring body having first and second free ends to be drawn together in order to secure the lid to the container. A link clevis and a lever clevis are welded to the free ends. A link is pivotally connected to the link clevis. A lever is pivotally connected to the lever clevis. The linkage arrangement is completed by connecting the link to the lever at a third pivot connection. A movable locking projection is assembled to the lever clevis for engaging the lever during an opening attempt wherein this engaging prevents the opening of the ring body until the movable locking projection is moved out of its engaging position relative to the lever.

A fluid dispensing system includes a closure assembly. The closure assembly is configured to enclose a container opening. The closure assembly has a fluid supply tube with an opening and a shut-off valve threadedly coupled to the supply tube. The shut-off valve has a valve member configured to close the opening in the supply tube upon rotating the shut-off valve in a first direction and to open the opening in the supply tube upon rotating the shut-off valve in a second direction. A cap assembly is coupled to the closure assembly. The cap assembly has a connector member with a fluid passage fluidly coupled to the supply tube. The cap assembly is coupled to the shut-off valve to rotate the shut-off valve in the first direction and the second direction. The configuration of the system eliminates the need for spring-based valves.

Closed loop fluid dispensing system

A container for the storage and dispensing of a liquid and which incorporates a sealing mechanism includes a blow-molded container body including a neck portion having a series of external threads and defining an annular, non-planar sealing surface, a pouring spout assembled into the body and a unitary closing lid including a series of internal threads constructed and arranged to engage the threads of the neck portion. The unitary closing lid includes the sealing mechanism in the form of a pair of annular sealing lips constructed and arranged to be compressed against the annular, non-planar sealing surface to establish a sealed interface between the closing lid and the body.

Sealing mechanisms for use in liquid-storage containers

A fluid dispensing system includes a pump body configured to couple to a container. The pump body defines fluid inlet openings and a pump cavity. A shroud cover covers the pump body to draw fluid from the container. An inlet valve allows fluid from the container to enter the pump cavity through the fluid inlet openings. A plunger is slidably received in the pump cavity, and the plunger defines a fluid passage with a dispensing opening through which the fluid is dispensed. A shipping seal seals the fluid passage during shipping to minimize leakage of the fluid during shipping. An outlet valve is disposed inside the fluid passage to minimize the height of the fluid between the outlet valve and the dispensing opening so as to minimize dripping of fluid from the dispensing opening. The pump body includes a venting structure to normalize the air pressure inside the system.

Inverted dispensing pump

A fluid dispenser which has a pump assembly having a reciprocable plunger received in a housing having an outlet end for delivery of fluids. A handle is pivotally connected to the housing and is mechanically connected to the plunger of the pump assembly to provide a mechanical advantage. A flexible internal tube connects the reciprocable plunger to a fixed outlet from the housing. The unit maybe field stripped without any special tools.
