A container providing for the storage of a pressurized fluid, such as a carbonated beverage, and having a separate compartment therein for the segregated storage of a second material, such as a flavoring for the beverage. The arrangement is responsive to a rapid drop in pressure which occurs in the container upon opening thereof to automatically cause the release of the second material from the compartment and dispensing thereof into the fluid stored in the container.

Combining an effective amount of an antifoaming agent with other ingredients of a sugar substitute sweetener by co-spray drying the defoamer with a minor amount of these ingredients such that the defoamer is present in excessive amounts, and thereafter blending the co-dried material with the remaining major amount of the sugar substitute ingredients to bring the concentration back to an effective, but non-excessive amount, results in a bulked low-calorie sweetening composition which is not only readily soluble and non-foaming, but is devoid of any appreciable change in desirable physical characteristics such as density and flowability.

Combining a readily soluble form of L-aspartyl-L-phenyl methyl ester (APM) with an effervescent calcium carbonate system and citric acid, when compressed into tablet form, produces an effervescent APM tablet having superior solubility and stability and is devoid of characteristic lingering sweet aftertaste.

Monocalcium phosphate containing above 4% dicalcium phosphate by weight thereof conditions the flow of citric or malic acid-based beverage mixes so as to provide a free-flowing and controllably-packageably dry mix.
