A receiving device and a method for operating a receiving device are provided in which a signal is divided into two separate signal parts. The two signal parts are demodulated simultaneously and, from the demodulated signals, the difference is formed. After the formation of the difference, an information item is obtained from the difference signal and compared with a predetermined information item. In the case of correspondence of the obtained information and the compared information, a wake-up signal is generated.

Wake-up circuit in receiving device and method of operating the receiving device

An electronic appliance comprising an electrical circuit and an operating mode switching unit which can be awakened out of a sleep state into a working state in which the current consumption of the circuit is greater in than in the sleep state. To receive a radio signal, the appliance has a receiver comprising a UHF carrier that is amplitude-modulated by a modulation signal. The receiver comprises a UHF antenna connected to a passive filter stage to an input of a passive rectifier circuit. An output of the rectifier circuit is connected to a detector for the modulation signal. To wake the electrical circuit from the sleep state, the operating mode switching unit has a control connection to the detector. The appliance has a low current draw in the sleep state by matching the output impedance of the rectifier circuit to the input impedance of the detector.

The invention relates to the coupling of a sensor element to a transponder, the connection of said sensor element to the transponder being achieved by capacitive or inductive coupling. This enables any separation layer that may lie between the sensor element and the transponder to be retained, allowing the invention to be advantageously used in gas and liquid-tight containers, such as tires. In addition, electrically non-conductive materials of the object to be measured can be used as a dielectric for the capacitive coupling and electrically conductive parts can form part of a conductor loop for the inductive coupling.

Crosstalk is eliminated in a transceiver which is operated in a frequency-division-multiplex full duplex mode. The technique is suitable in particular for what is referred to as software-defined telecommunications equipment. The frequency division multiplex transceiver has a baseband block, a transmit path and a receive path which respectively transmit and receive on different frequencies (full duplex mode). Furthermore, an auxiliary transmit path is provided which is connected to the receive path and which adds to the received signal a signal whose phase is shifted by 180&#xb0; with respect to the phase of the crosstalk portion in the first receive path at the summation or superimposition point and which has the same frequency range as the transmit signal. The auxiliary transmit path is driven here, independently of the first transmit path, by the baseband block so as to minimize the crosstalk sensed by the baseband block.

A resonator system and method are provided which includes/uses a tunable reference resonator, parts for tuning the reference resonator to a reference value via a controlled variable for the reference resonator, a tunable circuit resonator, and parts for tuning the circuit resonator which are designed such that the controlled variable for the reference resonator is used as a measure of the tuning of the circuit resonator, and wherein the reference resonator and/or the circuit resonator is/are designed as a surface acoustic wave component, a bulk acoustic wave component and/or a diaphragm oscillator.

A tool holder for holding a tool has at least one sensor for measuring an operating parameter of the tool holder or the tool during the operation thereof and generating measured value signals which are fed to a signal processing unit for evaluation. The sensor is a surface acoustic wave sensor operating according to acoustic wave principles and its measured value signals are readable in a contactless manner by means of radio waves. The surface acoustic wave sensor requires no current supply circuit but instead draws transmission energy required for transmission of the measured value signals to the signal processing unit from a high frequency interrogation signal, that is transmitted by radio waves from the signal processing unit and is received by the surface acoustic wave sensor.

An encapsulated installation, in particular a switching installation for high or medium voltage, includes a plurality of sensors located in an interior of an encapsulation. A central monitoring device is provided for information interchange with the surface acoustic wave sensors. An antenna element of the monitoring device is disposed at the encapsulation and is directed towards the interior. The sensors can be interrogated selectively.
