The present disclosure relates to a method for determining syringe parameters. It encompasses, as a first step, the providing of a medical syringe pump with a syringe receptacle having a syringe inserted herein, a drive unit for a slide, a counting device for counting motor steps, at least one sensor, a control device and a storage device. The method as described herein also encompasses, as further steps, moving the slide successively at different positions corresponding to known nominal volumes of the syringe. In a further step, the difference between these two positions is determined and, finally, optionally a number of motor steps of the drive unit of the syringe pump is calculated per nominal volume unit with respect to the inserted syringe.

Method for determining syringe parameters by a syringe pump, and apparatuses

A dialysis machine has a blood circuit, a blood pump, a dialyzer, a venous pressure sensor, a substituate line, and a control unit. The control unit can operate the blood pump in a first operating mode and in a special operating mode, and start the special operating mode after a trigger event. In the special operating mode, a blood pump conveying rate is controlled via a default value or regulated to a desired value, with the default or desired value being derived from a value determined before the started special mode or corresponding to the value. The presence of an obstacle is polled before the special mode, and depending on the presence thereof, the start of the special mode is blocked or delayed and/or the selection of the default value or the desired value on the presence of the obstacle differs from the selection without the presence of the obstacle.

Dialysis machine

A method for venting a dialyzer which has a dialyzate chamber, a blood chamber and a semi-permeable dialyzer membrane separating these two chambers. An overpressure is generated in the dialyzate chamber with respect to the blood chamber for removing air inclusions lying at the surface of the membrane at the dialyzate chamber side after a filling of the dialyzate chamber and before a filling of the blood chamber.

Method for venting a dialyzer

A device and method for detecting recirculation for an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus and an apparatus with a device for detecting recirculation are based on targeted haemodilution by administration of a substituate bolus, causing a pressure change in venous and arterial branches of the extracorporeal circuit due to a viscosity change of flowing fluid. Recirculation is detected based on detection of the pressure change. The device includes a control unit cooperating with a device for conveying blood and a device for supplying substituate. The control unit provides an operating mode for detecting recirculation, in which blood flow rate is reduced during administration of a substituate bolus. With simultaneous substituate bolus administration and reduction of blood flow rate, the composition of fluid flow is optimized for detection of recirculation, so that fairly large pressure changes result in venous and arterial branches, thereby improving sensitivity and reliability of the measurement method.

Device and method for detecting the recirculation during an extracorporeal blood treatment

The invention relates to an apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment, comprising a device for detecting a tubing system to be placed in the blood treatment apparatus and a method for detecting a tubing system to be placed in an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus. The tubing system is detected on the basis of the dependency of the flow rate Q, at which the fluid is delivered by at least one pump of the extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus in a tubing section of the tubing system, on the speed n at which the at least one pump is operated, and on the inner diameter d of the tube of the tubing section. Because the dependency of the flow rate on the pump speed and the tube cross section is known, a conclusion can be drawn as to whether a particular tubing system has been placed in the extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus.

The present invention relates to a method and a device for monitoring a fluid system of an extracorporeal blood treatment device. In the method according to the present invention and the device according to the present invention, the pressure in a ventilation line branching off the venous drip chamber in the venous blood line is measured, a hydrophobic filter being disposed in the ventilation line. A fault in the fluid system is determined in the absence of pressure variations in the segment of the ventilation line remote from the venous drip chamber. The pressure variations in the ventilation line can be generated downstream of the hydrophobic filter by alternately ventilating the ventilation line that is closed downstream of the hydrophobic filter during blood treatment.

Method and device for monitoring a fluid system of an extracorporeal blood treatment device

A method provides for checking the correct coupling of an adding device to a therapeutic appliance that includes an extracorporeal circuit with which the adding device is connected such that a drug can be introduced into the extracorporeal circuit by the adding device during operation of the therapeutic appliance. The adding device is coupled to the extracorporeal circuit on the suction side of a pump disposed in the extracorporeal circuit, with a portion in the region of negative pressure of the extracorporeal circuit being in connection with a portion of the adding device that is closed with respect to the other parts of the extracorporeal circuit, and with the pressure in the closed portion being varied and measured.
