An air spring for a motor vehicle having a rolling bellows filled with gas under pressure, one end of the rolling bellows is connected to a load receiver and the other end is fastened to a roll-off piston'. The load receiver and the roll-off piston are moveable relative to one another depending on a force impinging on the load receiver toward the roll-off piston. A sensor device is arranged inside the rolling bellows by which a distance between the load receiver and the roll-off piston is detected. A pressure piece extending in direction of the roll-off piston is arranged at the load receiver and a sensor body is movably drivable along a sensor track of the sensor device by an end region of the pressure piece facing the roll-off piston. The sensor device generates an electric signal corresponding to the position of the sensor body on the sensor track.

A protective tube arrangement for a piston-cylinder unit includes a substantially disk-shaped carrying cap and a protective tube which has axially projecting crenellations and free portions formed between the crenellations. First and second axially acting securing elements axially fix the protective tube to the carrying cap by positive engagement. Each of the securing elements is formed by a wrapped binding element which is wrapped around the protective tube over the crenellations and tightened between the crenellations over the free portions so that the binding element defines secant segments through the indentation of the imaginary contour of the protective tube between the crenellations in the free portions of the protective tube, which secant segments form a positively engaging arrangement for the carrying cap.

A sensor holder for a piston-cylinder unit with a cylinder and a piston rod which is movable relative to the latter comprises a holding element which carries out a synchronous movement with respect to the piston rod and has a first position measuring device. A second position measuring device is held by a holder so as to be axially stationary with respect to the cylinder, and there is a rotationally oriented installation position between the first position measuring device and second position measuring device. The cylinder-side holder and the holding element are rotatable relative to one another, and a magnetic force acting between the holder and the holding element brings about a rotational orientation of the two position measuring devices relative to one another.
