The present invention relates to an exhaust system for a combustion engine, more preferably of a road vehicle, with at least one exhaust gas-conducting component having a ring-shaped closed inner wall in circumferential direction, whose inner side is exposed to the exhaust gas. The energetic efficiency of the combustion engine can be improved with at least one thermoelectric generator which converts heat into electric energy and which is arranged on an outer side of the inner wall.

A sound generator, for a system for influencing sound waves propagating through an exhaust system of a vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine, includes an enclosure comprised of an upper shell and a lower shell. Component for motor vehicles and method for its production

A holding device, for the holding of a component part of an exhaust system on a peripheral structure, more preferably of a vehicle equipped with the exhaust system, has a first connecting point for fastening the holding device to the component part of the exhaust system and a second connecting point for fastening the holding device to the structure. A coupling device is arranged between the connecting points which makes possible reversible relative movements between the connecting points. For improved holding function, the coupling device is configured such that in at least in one active direction the coupling device has a speed-dependent or frequency-dependent stiffness. The coupling device has a lower stiffness with slower or low-frequency relative movements than with faster or high-frequency relative movements.

Air-gap-insulated exhaust manifold

An exhaust elbow ( ) is provided with a single exhaust outlet ( ) with an outlet mounting flange ( ) and at least two exhaust inlets ( ) with an inlet mounting flange ( ) for fastening on the engine block of a motor vehicle. An air gap-insulated exhaust manifold with a double-walled design provided only in the area of the collection pipe, while only a single-walled design is provided in the area of the individual pipes. The outer pipe includes two half shells, while the gas-carrying inner pipe is manufactured especially from one or more partial sections according to the inner high-pressure process.

Air gap-insulated exhaust pipe (2) with a sliding fit (16) between two inner pipe sections (12, 14) in a middle area of the length of the exhaust pipe (2). A radial mounting (26) of the inner pipe (6) in the outer pipe (4) is provided in the area of a bend (20) or beyond the bend (20), which joins the leg (18) of the exhaust pipe (2) in which the sliding fit (16) is located. In terms of manufacturing technique, the radial mounting (26) may be prepared before or after the bending of the double-pipe arrangement. The sliding fit (16) may be prepared, even in the case of a straight exhaust pipe, manifold, or the like, by using a spacer sleeve (40) and joint calibration of the pipe ends of the inner pipe sections (12, 14), and the spacer sleeve burns off at the time the exhaust pipe is put into operation for the first time. As an alternative, the sliding fit (16) may also be prepared by polygon calibration and rotating the pipe ends by half the pitch of the polygon.

Curved inlet pipes, which themselves are assembled from at least two curved individual pipes, are provided in an exhaust manifold with sheet metal inlet pipes from the respective cylinder head outlet to a common exhaust gas outlet. As a result, the sum of the moments of resistance is substantially smaller, especially in the case of short, curved inlet pipes, which prolongs the service life of a sheet metal exhaust manifold.

An air gap-insulated exhaust pipe with a sliding fit between two inner pipe sections in a middle area of the length of the exhaust pipe has a radial mounting of the inner pipe in the outer pipe which is provided in the area of a bend or beyond the bend, which joins the leg of the exhaust pipe in which the sliding fit is located. In terms of manufacturing technique, the radial mounting may be prepared before or after the bending of the double-pipe arrangement. The sliding fit may be prepared, even in the case of a straight exhaust pipe, manifold, or the like, by using a spacer sleeve and joint calibration of the pipe ends of the inner pipe sections, and the spacer sleeve burns off at the time the exhaust pipe is put into operation for the first time.
