A luminaire includes a fixture to be generally received in a recess of a support surface. A plurality of light engines are disposed within the fixture. The light engines each have at least one light source. A heat flange disposed about a distal end region of said fixture. The heat flange having a hollow, generally frustum shape with a cross-section extending generally radially outwardly beyond said fixture and extending away from said distal end region of said fixture. The hollow shape provides a flange cavity for housing of driver or other components for the light engines.

A coating layer which is provided on the mercury-absorbing layer has a getter effect and prevents the material of the mercury-absorbing layer from coming off.

The invention relates to a low-pressure discharge lamp comprising a glass discharge vessel () which is substantially tubular in form and which is closed in a gas-tight manner on the ends thereof, a filling consisting of an inert gas mixture and quicksilver, in addition to an optional luminous coating on the inner wall of the discharge vessel (). Two current supply inlets are respectively melted into the two ends of the discharge vessel (), with a helical electrode secured thereto (). Low-pressure discharge lamp

A lamp () is disclosed with a single or double-sided socket, whereby a bulb element () is arranged on the at least one socket (), which surrounds a volume of space () and said lamp is provided with at least one LED element (). An irradiation of the LED light into the bulb element occurs and, as a result of reflection, in particular total reflection, on the defining surfaces () of the bulb element a transmission of the LED light within the bulb element occurs.

The invention relates to a low-pressure discharge lamp, having a tubular discharge vessel made from glass, the free ends of which are closed off in a gas tight manner, two electrode systems () each having a filament (), two supply conductors () and a bead () of glass, the ends of the supply conductors () being fused into the ends of the discharge vessel which have been closed off in a gas tight manner and, in order to be held in a region between the filament () and the discharge vessel fused seal (), into the bead (), and a device for switching off the lamp at the end of its service life, comprising a paste () which contains a metal hydride and is fitted to the bead (). According to the invention, the bead () consists of a glass material which has a resistivity of greater 10&#x3a9;cm at 350&#xb0; C. Moreover, the paste () containing the metal hydride is applied to the bead () in the radiation shadow with respect to the thermal radiation which emanates from the filament () of the lamp in operation, and is not in electrical contact with the supply conductor wires () on the bead ().
