An air flap device () for a cooling or/and freezing appliance of kitchen equipment comprises an air flap () which is mounted so that it can pivot about a first axis of rotation () between an open position and a closed position, uncovers an air passage opening for the passage of air in the open position and at least substantially blocks the air passage opening against the passage of air in the closed position, and a motor-driven flap operating mechanism for pivoting the air flap. According to a further aspect the latching unit is formed by a one-piece latching body on which, in addition to a latching system () for engagement with the closure system of the second appliance component and a blocking system () for engagement with the blocking surface (), supporting surfaces for the latching spring assembly are also arranged.
