A system for encasing food products in film is described. The system comprises a mixer, a sealer in fluid communication with the mixer, a swivel mounted to a downstream side of the sealer, a stuffing horn mounted to a downstream side of the swivel, and a clipper. The stuffing horn is movable from a first position adjacent to said clipper, to a second position remote from said clipper.

Hybrid filling system

A system for producing food products is described. The system comprises a mixer, a stationary horn connected to the mixer and mounted in a heat-sealer, a plow connected to the stationary horn, a first product horn having a first end and a second end, the first product horn being rotatably attached to the heat-sealer and movable from a first position whereby the first end is attachable to the stationary horn and the second end is proximate a clipper, to a second position remote from the stationary horn and the clipper, and a second product horn having a first end and a second end, the second product horn being rotatably attached to the heat sealer and movable from a first position remote from the stationary horn and the clipper, to a second position whereby the first end is attachable to the stationary horn and the second end is proximate the clipper.

An apparatus and method to net food products in shirred tubular casing, in order to create a highly-dimpled foot product. A filling horn, shir housing, and netting tube allow for the extrusion of food products into an edible tubular collagen film, which itself expands into a netting of a smaller diameter than that of the film. As the food product under pressure expands against the tubular film, it presses through the spaces in the netting to created a dimpled appearance. After the food product has been further processed, the netting is removed, leaving the food product with a highly-dimpled appearance.
