A method and system for producing a curvature of a rod of vertebral osteosynthesis material designed to support a vertebral column of a patient is provided. A production unit receives a model defining the curvature of the rod. The curvature of the rod is based on a preoperative X-ray of the vertical column and defined by a simulated correction to be applied to the lumbar segment to be treated, a deduced curved segment representing the curvature of the rod based at least in part on one or more of a lumbar lordosis or a first curvature above a repositioned apex point and the second curvature below the repositioned apex point, and a translated curved segment representative of the deduced curved segment being translated away from a mean line of the vertebral column. The production unit uses computer aided design to produce the rod.

Method of making it possible to produce and ideal curvature of a rod of vertebral osteosynthesis material designed to support a patient's vertebral column

Systems and methods are provided to plan a spinal correction surgery. The method includes measuring parameters of a spine in a two-dimensional (2D) spinal image including a thoracic Cobb angle and a thoracic kyphosis (TK) and transforming the 2D image to a three-dimensional (3D), spinal image representation. The transforming includes performing segmentation of spine elements in the 2D image, and applying a formula based on the thoracic Cobb angle and the TK to the spine elements. The method includes identifying a TK goal having a post-operative TK value to selected spine elements, transforming a gap of the spine elements representative of a difference between the pre-operative TK in 3D spinal image representation and the TK goal to create a 3D post-operative spinal image representation, and determining a first rod design based on the 3D post-operative spinal image representation to achieve the post-operative TK value in the spine elements.

Systems and methods for planning a patient-specific spinal correction

A surgical planning and assessment system is disclosed. The system may include a computing system having a processor, a data store, a patient specific planning and analysis module, and a display. The system may be configured to access a database storing a plurality of possible surgical plans. The computing system may store a target surgical plan including a plurality of patient specific inputs including at least one preoperative medical image of a spine of a target patient and analyze the target surgical plan to determine a predicted alignment of the spine of the target patient. The computing system may develop a plurality of predictive models including a predicted alignment of the spine of the target patient based on the target surgical plan and suggest at least one alternative surgical plan with respect to the target surgical plan.

Systems and methods for medical image analysis

According to some embodiments, the process includes the steps of: a) taking a sagittal preoperative x-ray of the vertebral column of the patient to be treated, extending from the cervical vertebrae to the femoral heads; b) on that x-ray, identifying points on S1, S2, T12 et C7; c) depicting, on the said x-ray, curved segments beginning at the center of the plate of S1 et going to the center of the plate of C7; e) identifying, on that x-ray, the correction(s) to be made to the vertebral column, including the identification of posterior osteotomies to make; f) pivoting portions of said x-ray relative to other portions of that x-ray, according to osteotomies to be made; g) performing, on said x-ray, a displacement of the sagittal curvature segment extending over the vertebral segment to be corrected; h) from a straight vertebral rod (TV), producing the curvature of that rod according to the shape of said sagittal curvature segment in said displacement position.

Methods, systems, and devices for designing and manufacturing a spinal rod

A surgical planning and assessment system is disclosed. The system may include a computing system having a processor, a data store, and a patient specific planning and analysis module. The system may be configured to store a patient specific target plan including a digital representation of a spinal rod having a target geometry and transform the digital representation into a curved line. The system may generate a spline data set comprising a plurality of spline segments that are sequentially linked to one another. The system may adjust, iteratively, each spline segment until the plurality of spline segments approximate the curved line. The system may generate a digital file comprising drawings for manufacturing a spinal rod based on the plurality of spline segments. In various embodiments, each spline segment may be defined by a corresponding arc or a corresponding line extending between a corresponding starting point and a corresponding ending point.

Systems, methods, and devices for developing patient-specific spinal implants, treatments, operations, and/or procedures

Certain systems, methods, and devices described herein are configured to dynamically model a patient area for surgery and/or other treatment, dynamically identify one or more features and/or characteristics thereon such as the length and/or elasticity of the posterior longitudinal ligament (PLL), dynamically allow modification of the model, dynamically limit and/or assist in modification of the model, and/or dynamically generate guidelines for generation of patient-specific implants and/or treatment kits for a specific patient.

In some embodiments, systems, methods, and devices described herein for developing patient-specific spinal treatments, operations, and procedures can comprise an iterative virtuous cycle. The iterative virtuous cycle can further comprise pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative techniques or processes. For example, the iterative virtuous cycle can comprise imaging analysis, case simulation, implant production, case support, data collection, machine learning, and/or predictive modeling. One or more techniques or processes of the iterative virtuous cycle can be repeated.

Systems, methods, and devices for developing patient-specific spinal treatments, operations, and procedures

The disclosure herein relates to systems, methods, and devices for developing patient-specific spinal implants, treatments, operations, and/or procedures. In some embodiments, systems, methods, and devices described herein can comprise using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and/or predictive modeling to predict the outcome of a spinal surgery, one or more parameters of a spine of a patient after spinal surgery, for example after implantation of a spinal rod which can be patient-specific, and/or one or more parameters of one or more recommended patient-specific spinal rods. Furthermore, in some embodiments, systems, methods, and devices described herein can comprise intraoperative tracking for tracking and/or suggesting improvements during spinal surgery based on a pre-operatively determined surgical plan, for example in real-time or substantially real-time. In addition, in some embodiments, systems, methods, and devices described herein can comprise screw planning prior to spinal surgery.

Systems, instruments, and methods for medical treatment are disclosed. The methods comprise, by a computing device: receiving information identifying at least one first point on a body part shown in a medical image; overlaying a first mark on the medical image for the at least one first point; generating a spline based at least on the first mark; overlaying a second mark for the spline on the medical image; identifying a location of at least one second point on the body part shown in the medical image based on the first and second marks; overlaying a third mark for the at least one second point on the medical image; and using at least the third mark to facilitate the medical treatment of an individual whose body part is shown in the medical image.
