An idler pulley () of a traction mechanism drive, on which a traction mechanism (), such as a belt or chain, is guided, and which idler pulley is adjustable via an adjusting eccentric () and can be fastened to a machine part () in conjunction with a fastening means (). The adjusting eccentric () and the fastening means () together form a fixing device () with which at least one end position of the adjusting eccentric () and consequently of the idler pulley () can be defined. For this purpose, the fixing device () comprises at least one lug () which is oriented radially or axially and interacts with at least one stop () of the associated further component.

Eccentric idler pulley

A tensioning device for a belt or chain drive with a tensioning lever () which is provided with a rotatable tension roller () mounted rotatably a drag bearing () constructed as a plain bearing on a base housing (), and radially at a distance from the axis of rotation () of the drag bearing (); with a pretensioned torsion spring (), which is constructed as a helical spring ('), disposed coaxially with the drag bearing () and connected at the spring ends () thereof at the housing side to the base housing (), and at the lever side to the tensioning lever (); and with a brakeshoe () which is disposed at one spring end () and which can be pressed by the spring end against a component which can rotate about the axis of rotation () of the drag bearing () relative to the spring end (). In order to achieve good heat dissipation of the friction damping device and uniform stress on the drag bearing (), the brake shoe () is constructed and is disposed at the lever-side spring end () of the helical spring () such that the brake shoe () is clamped peripherally between the spring end () and a radially directed stop surface () of a catch attached to the tensioning lever () and, via a contacting force (F) resulting from the two peripheral tangential forces (F, F) from the helical spring () and on the helical spring (), can be pressed with an outer cylindrical friction surface () largely radially against a cylindrical inner wall () of the base housing ().

Tensioning device of a belt and chain drive

A clamping device with mechanical damping for a traction mechanism drive is provided. The device includes a clamping arm which carries a tension roller on one end thereof and is rotatably mounted in a housing at the other end thereof via a shaft connected thereto in a rotationally fixed manner, and is elastically supported on the housing by a torsion spring. A free end of the shaft is connected to a friction disk in a rotationally fixed manner, and a friction lining is arranged between the friction disk and an axial abutment surface of the housing. The invention reduces the friction lining wear and increases the damping capacity thereof. To accomplish this, a separate friction disk (&#x2033;&#x2033;) is connected to a separate friction lining (&#x2033;&#x2033;) in a positively locked manner without play, and the separate friction lining ((&#x2033;&#x2033;) is in frictional contact with the axial abutment surface () of the housing ().
