A wellhead, including a fluid injection system disposed in the wellhead, a fiber injection system disposed in the wellhead and operably connected to the fluid injection system to inject fiber into the fluid injection system. A multimodal fluid injection valve, including a body having a check valve therein, a side pocket physically and fluidly connected to the body, the side pocket including a fiber anchor therein. A method for instrumenting a preexisting gas lift or chemical injection system, including cleaning the chemical injection system, and injecting optic fiber through the chemical injection system. A wellbore system including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, a surface system operably connecting both a chemical or gas injection device and an optic fiber injection device to a gas lift or chemical injection subsystem in the borehole, and an optic fiber disposed in the chemical or gas injection subsystem.

An interval control valve actuator includes an electrohydraulic pressure generator and an actuation pressure line extending between the generator and a valve. A hydraulic junction disposed in the actuation pressure line is selectively hydraulically joins the actuation pressure line to a backup pressure line. An interval control valve including a housing, a valve disposed in the housing, an electrohydraulic actuator hydraulically connected to the valve by an actuation pressure line. A hydraulic junction disposed between the electrohydraulic actuator and the valve and a backup pressure line hydraulically connected to the hydraulic junction, the backup pressure line being selectively hydraulically connectable to the actuation pressure line.

An compact instrumented downhole coupling that includes a carrier and a set of sensors and electronics that are installed within the carrier. The carrier is a tubular structure having couplings at each end and a bore extending through the carrier from the first end to the second end, forming a carrier wall between the bore and the exterior surface of the carrier. The bore and couplings are offset from a central axis of the carrier (the axis of the cylindrical outer surface of the carrier), resulting in a thicker portion of the carrier wall on one side of the carrier. Cavities are formed (e.g., by drilling holes) within the thicker portion of the carrier wall. One or more sensors and corresponding electronics are then positioned within the cavities, so that the carrier wall itself forms a housing for the sensors and electronics.

A system for monitoring a downhole component includes a downhole sensing device configured to monitor a downhole component and generate component information during deployment of the of the downhole component to a selected location in a borehole in a resource bearing formation. The system also includes a downhole communication device connected to the downhole sensing device, the downhole communication device configured to wirelessly transmit a signal indicative of the component information to a surface location during the deployment.

Systems and methods for communicating between surface equipment and a downhole tool installed in a well. First and second toroidal transformers are positioned around an inner one of a pair of coaxial structural members of a well completion (e.g., a pump rod and tubular, or a tubular and a well casing) which are electrically coupled to form an electrical circuit. A transmitter generates a data signal which is applied to the first toroidal transformer, causing a corresponding electrical current to be induced in the circuit, which then induces the data signal on the second toroidal transformer. A receiver coupled to the second toroidal transformer receives the data signal induced on the second toroidal transformer. The transmitter and receiver may be components of transceivers that may communicate bidirectionally. Additional toroidal coils and transceiver may be provided to communicate with equipment at additional locations in the well.

Systems and methods for wireless communication in a well

Systems and methods for wireless power transmission in a well, wherein first and second structural members of a well completion are electrically connected to form an electrical circuit, with first and second toroidal transformers positioned around the second structural member at different axial locations. A power source coupled to the first toroidal transformer is configured to generate an output voltage which is applied to the first toroidal transformer, inducing a corresponding electrical current in the electrical circuit. This in turn induces a second voltage on the second toroidal transformer, which is provided to a downhole tool. The tool may include conditioning circuitry, which rectifies the received power and charges a battery. The downhole electric tool is then operated using the received power.

An apparatus for deploying one or more components of a borehole monitoring system includes a conductor assembly having one or more communication devices connected along a length of a conductor, each communication device being configured to wirelessly communicate data and/or power, the conductor configured to transmit the data and/or the power through a borehole in an earth formation. The apparatus further includes a deployment device configured to transport and support the length of the conductor having the one or more communication devices connected along the length of the conductor and deploy the length of the conductor in the borehole.

System for deploying communication components in a borehole

An adjustable barrier for use with a building having a door frame with a door frame opening, a track assembly, and a garage door positioned between the track assembly to selectively cover the door frame opening, the adjustable barrier comprising a barrier bracket and an extendable barrier panel. The adjustable barrier is adapted to seal off a garage door gap located between the garage door and the door frame, and is positioned between the door frame and the track to create a barrier preventing a pest from bypassing the garage door and entering the building through the garage door gap. The extendable barrier panel selectively extends and retracts to adjust to the distance between the track and the door frame, and may further be tapered to allow the adjustable barrier to maintain contact with the track when the track curves away from the door frame.

An apparatus for estimating an ambient environment at which inorganic scale will form in a downhole fluid includes a stress chamber disposed in a borehole in a production zone at a location within a specified range of maximum pressure and configured to receive a sample of the fluid from the production zone and to apply an ambient condition to the sample that causes the formation of inorganic scale. An inorganic scale sensor is configured to sense formation of inorganic scale within the chamber and an ambient environment sensor is configured to sense an ambient environment within the chamber at which the formation of inorganic scale occurs. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to receive measurement data from the inorganic scale sensor and the ambient environment sensor and to identify the ambient environment at which the formation of inorganic scale occurs.

System and method for downhole inorganic scale monitoring and intervention in a production well

An apparatus for estimating an ambient environment at which organic scale will form in a downhole fluid includes a stress chamber disposed in a borehole in a production zone at a location of maximum pressure and configured to receive a sample of the fluid from the production zone and to apply an ambient condition to the sample that causes the formation of organic scale. A sensor is configured to sense formation of organic scale within the chamber and an ambient environment sensor is configured to sense an ambient environment within the chamber at which the formation of organic scale occurs. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to receive measurement data from the organic scaling sensor and the ambient environment sensor and to identify the ambient environment at which the formation of organic scale occurs using the organic scaling sensor measurement data and ambient environment sensor measurement data.
