Methods for an imaging system are provided. In some examples, a method includes determining an imaging field of view (FOV) of a rotatable imaging system, determining a size and/or shape of the imaging FOV and a position of the imaging FOV relative to the rotatable imaging system, determining a first location of the imaging FOV relative to an environment in which the rotatable imaging system is positioned, and sending information indicating the size and/or shape and the position of the imaging FOV as well as the first location of the imaging FOV relative to the environment to an external computing device.

A system and method for the prediction of a thermal load for a proposed imaging procedure in view of the current thermal state for an imaging system employs a suitable software program/algorithm which determines a predicted or likely set of individual steps for a proposed imaging procedure to be performed. The system receives parameters for the particular imaging procedure to be performed and compares these parameters with information stored concerning prior performed imaging procedures to locate prior performed imaging procedures that have similar parameters to that for the proposed imaging procedure. The system utilizes the similar prior performed procedures as models of a likely set of imaging steps for the proposed procedure and estimates the heat generation produced by the models. The software program/algorithm can then determine if the entire proposed imaging procedure represented by the models can be successfully performed under the current thermal state for the imaging system.

System and method for thermal load prediction of proposed imaging procedures for X-ray tubes

Systems and methods for surgical tool navigation, include a movable gantry. A light emitting device is connected to the movable gantry. A range meter connected to the gantry. The distance meter measures a distance between the light emitting device and a surface. In a method of surgical tool navigation, the light emitting device projects light on the surface. The range meter detects the light and measures the distance between the light emitting device and the surface.

A workflow assistance system for image guided surgical procedures includes an interventional imaging system. The interventional imaging system operates to move relative to a patient and to acquire interventional images during a surgical procedure. A surveillance system is arranged about a surgical suite and produces surveillance data. A workflow controller processes the surveillance data to identify locations of clinicians, the patient, the interventional imaging system, and medical equipment within the surgical suite and provide operational commands to the interventional imaging system based upon the surveillance data.
