A device for compacting the soil comprising a soil contact element which is impinged upon by an oscillation exciter enabling the soil to be compacted. The soil contact element is elastically coupled to an upper mass. The upper mass is used as a detection mass, whereby the acceleration thereof is detected by an acceleration sensor. A measuring signal emitted by the acceleration sensor is evaluated in a control device which controls the oscillation exciter according to a deviation from a set value.

The invention relates to a method for recording image information on a data carrier which has a substrate that can have optically identifiable information written to it by the application of radiation, and an image-carrying area suitable for the application of information, in which the whole image information of an image to be recorded is applied to the image-carrying area. In order to increase the tamperproofness of the image to be recorded and the identifiability of the said image, without adversely affecting the brilliance and colour fidelity of the image, the invention provides for a portion of the image information that is to be recorded to be additionally written to the substrate with the aid of radiation.

A device for generating directed vibrations has two centrifugal weights which are independently driven at the same speed of rotation but in opposite directions. The centrifugal weights are supported on a largely stiff carrier secured by a holder to a bracket. The holder allows the carrier to move relative to the bracket. When the centrifugal weights start moving, they become synchronized within a short period of time and generate vibrations which can be used in the desired manner via the bracket.

The invention relates to a process for printing text on a sheet of a booklet-like article in a text-printing station, in the case of which the booklet-like article is arranged in a swung-open state in a cassette (10) and fed to the text-printing station. Then the position in the text-printing station of the border of the sheet which is to have text printed on it is detected, as is the position of a pattern provided on the sheet which is to have text printed on it. Thereafter, the sheet has text printed on it such that some of the text is aligned with respect to the pattern and other parts are aligned with respect to the sheet border. The process according to the invention can be carried out particularly advantageously using a cassette which has a base plate (11), with a bearing region (15) and a first bearing surface (17), and also has a frame (12), which is arranged on the base plate such that it can be released at least in part opposite the bearing region (15). The first bearing surface (17) is assigned a second bearing surface, which is offset parallel to the first bearing surface (17) in the direction of the normals of the two bearing surfaces.

An identification card with high-embossed data, in which the high-embossed data are superimposed by a security pattern which is inscribed in the identification card by means of a laser beam recorder. The security pattern may be present, for example, only on the high-embossed data themselves or else cover a larger area of the card. Attempted back-embossing of the high-embossed data is immediately recognizable due to distortion of the security pattern.

Method of producing an identification card

The disclosure concerns an identification card containing information such as name, account number, photograph of the card owner, etc. The card is protected by a superjacent printed security pattern, such as a guilloche, or other pattern which is difficult to imitate, or a homogeneous printed surface. The information is inscribed into the identification card material through the printed security pattern by a laser beam recorder. The energy of the laser and the colors of the printed security pattern are coordinated with each other in such a way that the laser light is not absorbed by the printed security pattern and the latter is not destroyed by the laser light.

An identification card having information applied in the form of patterns, letters, numbers and/or images, formed by interruptions in the homogeneity of different colored layer areas arranged superjacently on the identification card. The colored information can be produced by selectively removing the color layers by means of a controlled laser beam or by blurring or other chemical reactions induced by said beam. Thus identification cards can be produced having a high standard of security in spite of the simplicity of their production.

Data present on identification cards in a high-embossed form are protected against attempted forgery and falsification. This protection consists in providing on the identification card, along with the data record in a high-embossed form, a second identical data record which may be visually tested without auxiliary means and is inscribed in the identification card by means of a laser recorder.
