The invention relates to a superposition drive for a superimposed steering system of a motor vehicle, with a drive shaft and a drive gear cooperating with the drive shaft, wherein the drive shaft is pivotally mounted with respect to the drive gear. A lever element pivotally mounted with respect to the drive gear, which is designed and arranged such that pivoting of the lever element entails pivoting of the drive shaft or vice versa pivoting of the drive shaft entails pivoting of the lever element, is provided.

Superposition drive for a superimposed steering system of a motor vehicle

A steering wheel assembly for a motor vehicle comprising a steering wheel that can be mounted rotatably about a steering axle on a motor vehicle is provided. The steering wheel assembly comprises an airbag module disposed in a pre-determinable use position on the steering wheel, and an adjusting device disposed on the steering wheel assembly. Said adjusting device is adapted and provided for adjusting the spatial position of the airbag module relative to the steering wheel for the purposes of compensating for tolerances perpendicular to the steering axle. In the process, the adjusting device comprises adjusting means for generating an adjusting force that has at least one force component along the adjusting direction of the airbag module and also a guide device for guiding the airbag module along the adjustment direction thereof.

Steering wheel assembly for a motor vehicle

Exemplary embodiments of the present invention relate to a steering wheel arrangement for motor vehicles having a steering wheel, an airbag module held at the steering wheel and movable in the direction of the axis of the steering wheel, and an electrical contact system arranged between the steering wheel and the airbag module for the actuation of an electrical functional unit, in particular of a vehicle horn by a relative movement between the steering wheel and the air-bag module taking place in the direction of the steering wheel axis, where-in the contact system includes elongate extended electrical conductors which are attached to mutually confronting sides of the steering wheel and of the airbag module or only to the steering wheel or to the airbag module and extend in such a way that conductors spaced apart in the direction of the steering wheel axis cross at least one contact position.

The invention relates to an airbag module for a motor vehicle comprising an airbag, a gas generator for inflating the airbag, and a housing for accommodating both the gas generator and the airbag. According to the invention, the airbag () and the gas generator () are arranged on opposite sides () of a wall () of the housing ().

Airbag module for a motor vehicle

An annular airbag is disclosed, of the type where the center piece () of the steering wheel cover () (mostly embodied as the emblem of the vehicle producer) remains in place during the unfolding process. In order to prevent a vehicle occupant impacting the hole arising above the center piece with an inflated airbag, the tubular region () of the airbag above the center piece is embodied such that the cross-sectional area thereof in the inflated state reduces in the direction of the upper plate of the airbag from the center piece (). The above is achieved, for example, by means of a special forming of the tubular region, by provision of pockets () and/or folds (), the use of special materials, a special fixing of the airbag to the airbag module (), or the fitting of tension straps ().

Airbag

An airbag arrangement including an airbag, a gas generator and a housing. The housing includes an outlet for letting gas out of the airbag arrangement and a passage for allowing gas from the gas generator into the housing. A closing device is provided. The closing device can be adjusted between an open position, in which the outlet is open and the passage is at least partially closed, and a closed position, in which the outlet opening is closed and the passage opening is open. A releasable lock is provided for locking the closing device in the open position.

Airbag arrangement

An airbag module for use in a motor vehicle includes a gas generator, and an airbag operatively connected to the gas generator which has, in an inflated state, a restricted cross-section with substantially parallel sides and two opposite ends, and two enlarged sections, each adjoining a different one of the two opposite ends of the restricted cross-section such that the airbag is bone-shaped. One of the enlarged sections of the airbag is adapted to face an occupant of the motor vehicle in which it is installed. Preferably, the airbag is mounted either underneath, above, or in the middle of the dashboard of the motor vehicle. The airbag may be installed in the steering wheel or a side airbag position in the motor vehicle.

Air bag module

The invention concerns a gas bag for an airbag module, the gas bag being concertinaed in the region of a gas generator in the rest state. According to the invention, the gas bag stack formed by the concertina folds is additionally curved at least once in a plane extending perpendicular to the fold surfaces and parallel to the fold edges. A gas bag folded in this way can easily unfold since no section thereof is folded over the other.

Airbag for airbag module and method for folding airbag

A method and device for folding an airbag having a inner main fold and an outer main fold in a folded state. The airbag is fixed to a working surface, extended along a longitudinal axis away from the working surface, and fixed in the area of the inner or outer main fold. The airbag is then expanded, or contracted, to form the outer or inner main fold, respectively, and then compressed toward the working surface. A shaping body is preferably inserted into the airbag through an inflation opening to extend the airbag so that a folding element may activated to retain the airbag against the shaping body to form the inner or outer main fold.

An airbag, a process for folding same and an apparatus for carrying out the folding process are disclosed. In order to produce a folded airbag as well as a process and apparatus for manufacturing same which ensure that the airbag can unfold very quickly without obstruction evenly where possible in all directions when the associated gas generator is activated, the airbag has main fold lines which run at least in part along closed tracks around an imaginary center on the substantially empty spread-out airbag. The corresponding process ensures such a path of the main fold lines and the apparatus has folding elements which are movable relative to each other and which have projections directed towards each other in the direction of movement wherein each projection or group of projections defines a closed track running round a center wherein tracks extending from inside to outside are provided at increasing distance from the center.
